[Enter stage left] Allow me to get on my soapbox for a moment....

[Steps on to Soapboax] Caddyshack is a terrible movie!

Rodney Dangerfield's character is a jerk, Bill Murray's character is sad and pathetic, and with exception to Chevy Chase (who is cool enough) the rest of the cast are a bunch of selfish jerks. Most of all none of them are funny, they are just mean or stupid, which is not funny. Furthermore, the plot of the movie is nonexistent. Caddyshack is a series of sketches strung together with no coherent story line linking them together. In conclusion, if the sketches are more dumb than funny, the characters are all jerks, and the storyline doesn't make sense, why watch it? Perhaps it just aged like an un-refrigerated carton of milk, but to me Caddyshack is by far the most overrated comedy from the 1980's, and I highly recommend everyone to not waste their time watching this terrible movie.
