This Cal team was not a terrible team, and you are a terrible fan saying that they are. This Cal team is still in the process of rebuilding, but they made real progress this year and are trending upwards. To change coaching staffs every year or two in search of a coach that can provide a miracle turn around is dumb, short sighted and will most likely end in losing more games.

Well, Jared Goff really wasn't great as a frosh, so you might be right, but as much as I support Garbers I want what is best for Cal FB, and I would love to see Daniels in the mix. We need help at this position period. Either Garbers gets exponentially better (and it could be for a number of reasons: better receivers, more experience, better OLine) or we need help here.

Too early to tell on Chase but definitely enough upside to continue to invest.

Rhythm is so important. If some of those easy passes that were dropped get caught, then maybe Chase and the offense get into a better rhythm and we win the game.

With more reps and more experience, I bet he makes his passing a more consistent weapon which makes his running even more dangerous.

He's worth believing in for me.

I agree. Competition brings out the best in athletes. The more; the better. Heck, I would love to see true competition at every position. However, it is not realistic to think a true freshman, unless he is a Trevor Lawrence kinda guy, is going to become the #1.

Unfortunately, Bowers appears to be transferring. I was hoping someone would surpass him this year, but I didn't want him to get injured and lose his job. Bummed about how it worked out for him.

I think the list is for all of college football. Not aware of any other Cal players looking to transfer.
