GOOD
Sproul plaza rally never gets old
Stanford band spelling out the script Cal in Memorial
After a brief flurry of rain for about 3 minutes, no rain during game time, and actually some sunshine
Again impressed by those new hot dogs
Best attendance this season. Fans got loud at times, especially when we were on defense.
Laird with 116 yards, including 62 yard sprint. He put on both jet boosters on that one.
Cal total offense (352) > Stanford (329). Cal also had more first downs by 2.
3-3 on 4th down, the 9th 4thdown conversion in a row
Defense looked dominate at times.
Weaver with 15 tackles.
Hawkins heat seeking missile tackle for loss
Duncan with the late TD to make the final margin more representative of the game
BAD
The game was there to win. We just needed to make the plays that were there for us. We didn't need miracles or heroes. Some examples:
- dropped open pass that would have moved the chains. Hawkins was wide open, pass was perfectly on target and soft.
- we get cover zero, had an open receiver at the goal, QB has time with no defenders in front of him to block his vision or throw over. bad pass.
- missed FG
- INT in end zone. Don't know where that pass was going, but way off target
- Lots of volleyball type tipped passes, plus Stanford fair catch ball on the ground, yet only 1 stanford turnover. Instead Stanford gets a bizarre tipped pass INT, and MM's fumbles ball before his butt hits turf
UGLY
9th loss to Stanford, meaning another Cal class winless in Big Game
