we're actually 4 and 4 in our last 8 games there. not terrible.

i agree with op, it's a soulless place.

also, in that pic on the front page

all those empty upper deck seats should be stanfurd fans. but the seats are empty and the ones that aren't look to be cal fans.

I toyed with the idea of not going to the game because I really dislike stanfurd stadium and the drive to it.

But given the outcome, man am I glad I came.

I've expressed my feelings about the CMS rebuild in the past so i won't repeat them here. Memorial is such a beautiful venue in every aspect except the seating. I thought the seats at stanfurd were not too bad. Chair backs are good. But there didn't appear to be much more space than at Memorial. And there are few things worth praising at the farm.

I will give credit for two things and only two things at stanfurd stadium. One.......a grass field. Nothing is better. And I was less worried about Chase falling on the grass surface than I would have been had he fallen on that rug at Memorial. For that reason, and only that reason, I'm glad the game this year was in Paly.

Second, the lower seats are still high enough to give a view of the proceedings, but not so high (as they are at Memorial) that you feel divorced from the action. The field was lowered too much at Memorial and the seating starts way too high.

Other than that, I've seen JUCO stadiums with more character and better design than 'fund's stadium.

No stadium anywhere is more beautiful than Memorial (except of the plastic rug).

The chair back seats at CMS may be tight. But the bench seats have plenty of room.
