Bowl t-shirts are always tacky. I have several, but the best were bought in the parking lots after the games! I recall a Cal grad made up his own Cal Rose Bowl t shirt after the 2003 season when were supposed to go! Cal attorneys went after him for copyright violation since he used the Cal script on the shirt. So he changed it to a Block C and I still have mine.

What's wrong with canary yellow? That's Cal State's official color.

It's a shame the shirt didn't say Ole Cal. I'd snap that up in a nanosecond.

Every bowl game that I've attended I've tried to get a souvenir tee in the head-to-head clashing helmets style (it's a classic!). I think I have 4.

I'll wait for something closer to our actual branding to emerge.

The one from the Emerald Bowl was purchased from some dude on the street, for about $5. Which has to barely cover the cost of the cotton and ink.

Absolutely. I'd buy a Cal State shirt for sure if they were still available for my sports memorabilia collection. It would go nicely next to my Dodgers 1978 World Series Champs pennant I got when I was 7 years old leaving one of the WS games. I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff over the years but I never got rid of that pennant.

I got nothing against the Cal State schools but I didn't go to one of them and they aren't playing Illinois in the bowl game. Clearly nobody checked the shirts out before they went public or the person who signed off on this is a stanfurd grad

I've always thought that SJ State should capitalize and grab Cal State as their own since they are the oldest of the CSU Universities

"Cal State" is much better branding for them compared to "San Jose State University"
