The Pac 12 doing well has never done anything to lift Cal. The only thing they could do to help us is negotiate a better TV deal.

Is there a metric that shows how a recruit or recruits chose Cal over SC or vice versa because of winning or losing a bowl game OR the quality of the bowl game they were in?

Helton actually has a good record. But you can't take beat downs to Iowa if you want to last long there

Iowa is probably better than its 9-3 record would indicate but getting pasted in bowl games indicates major game preparation issues.

Lights have turned out on SC. They lost Slovis and the air got sucked out from the team. Iowa may hit 55+ if they try.

Yes. SC looks like Cal late in so many games under SD. They are defeated and obviously not playing as hard as they were earlier in the game.

I especially enjoyed the last 15 minutes of the game which the announcers largely used solely to dump on everything and anything SC-related. From the administration to the athletic department to the coaching staff to the fans to the recruiting class and so on. At least they had the decency to not mention that the hoops team is in the midst of a full blown NCAA investigation.

Amy was a strange creation who was in all likelihood not an SC fan/alum. She seemed to have a problem with Cal winning, and chose to beat the SC drum because they were the team that was better than Cal in that timeframe.

Since Cal has dropped out of national prominence, Amy has gone bye bye.

Not sure which rumors were true or concocted about who Amy was or what triggered the massive amounts of postings on a wide range of sports sites, but the one that stuck in my head was that his dad was a somewhat major donor to Cal and that Amy himself did not get into Cal and ended up at SF state or Davis or similar, and harbored some resentment.

While on the subject of BI crazy 'guest' posters, Trojan Al was almost certainly a Furd invention, right? Make SC alum look like total entitled but incompetent jackasses while occupying and antagonizing the main Cal board...
