Patience is a virtue, but I’m not into virtue signaling these days.

That's not a scandal. That's just being American.

Do people here think that fake transcripts never find their way into UC admissions offices?

Really?

Do people here think that there's a Cal admissions officer who facilitates the entry of unqualified Chinese people? Let alone at least collaborates in the payments for same (some might call it something else)?

That is not what this was. Of course, people try to cheat the system for admission. This was someone on the inside helping them.

tl : dr

After UCLA passed on him, USC allegedly accepted and awarded a Qatari prince a B.A. and a masters despite multiple instances of fraud and bribery. School courted his family and the Qatari government for major donations to its operations on Catalina Island, but came up short. The punk lived a lavish lifestyle in L.A. all made possible by horrid human rights abuses in his home country.

After a string of scandal after scandal, does pressure grow on the AG's office to publicly announce an investigation into their lack of institutional control? It's happened to other major institutions before--the Getty in the aughts comes to mind.

"He was allowed to blow off class for dubious "security reasons" as an undergrad, then was handed a master's degree for a period in which he took several vacations in Europe and never stepped foot on campus."

Sounds like a pretty typical USC student experience, actually.

Arash is a USC prof who would write about the admission scandal without saying he's a USC professor.
