Let's stay hopeful that football happens and that fans can see games in the latter half.

"Hey, why is the shoreline receding? *
I guess it's okay to walk out farther from the beach! Cool!
* Note only 4,000,000 covid infections have been reported here in the good old U.S. The U.S. has a population of over 330,000,000+. The virus has gotten its foot in the door. This senario reminds me of the song "We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters. Although some parents may disagree, all kids are homo sapiens. The virus, albeit some believe it isn't alive, is still learning how to use homo sapiens. It's like a hungry lone wolf watching a herd of deer say. It will first pick off all the older members (weak immune systems) .....the sickly (dysfunctional immune systems) ......then the young (developing immune systems)....before really exposing itself to the main herd (tada...a mutant maybe?). The bottomline is kids will get infected and really transmit the virus if they foolishly huddle together, as in school. It's just a matter of time especially when nothing is being collectively done.
I Hate to say it but sometimes you are spot on.
And this is one of those times.
Dr. Fauci reported in Congress today that we can defeat this virus but we must fight it together as a nation Instead of attacking it with a diversity project f actions.
Imagine we all lived in 50 houses in a remote small town. A wildfire approaches that the town and each of the 50 families decides not to band together to fight the wildfire together but to fight the fire each in their own way.
Maybe someone should tell our "fearless leader" that the Articles of Confederation are no longer in effect.
Uh, I'm not sure how this relates to the Articles. You realize that the Articles created 13 independent "states" with very little binding them. Your snide reference to President Trump is self-serving only.
Fauci has forfeited all credibility with his continual self-contradictions. He was trained to know the mechanism of the human body. He has become a manager of statistics, about which he was not trained, nor does he appear to know.
And, can we dispense with the ascription of human intent to non-human (often inanimate) things? The virus has not "gotten its foot in the door." It is not like a hungry wolf, stalking its prey. It is a relatively simple organism whose components so happen to interact with humans in a few ways that our bodies cannot easily defend against. There are thousands, probably millions, of viruses in the environment, all but a few of which our body's defenses easily kill. The Chinese came up with one that requires us to invent additional defenses. We're getting there.
The Chinese did not come up with the virus - that implies a person or persons residing in China developed the virus. In fact, the virus is a natural phenomena that was initiated in China by careless behavior.
Otherwise, your last paragraph is on the mark.....
Fair enough. I don't know that the Chinese didn't do this intentionally, but I veered off the freeway in saying that they did. Proof will probably be impossible, so can't accuse.
The other side of the conspiracy coin...
The US Government created the virus, then transported and released it in China.
Needless to say, both conspiracy theories would be laughably silly if it weren't for the network of nitwits that believe them and their ability to keep them alive.
Except that the virus came from China not the US. And, probably from a Chinese lab, at that, - a government lab. And, except that we are in a cold war with China who has shown to have far fewer scruples than we. At the very least, they delayed notifying the world that the virus was in the public.
If you're going to speculate on an event, you'd better have SOME evidence that makes your speculation even remotely possible. Otherwise, we call it irresponsible...and preposterous.
