What the Buffs are doing is insane. Their QB was a safety last year and their RB, who is tearing it up, was a wide receiver. Their defense is not solid, but has a great player at LB (Landman is their version of Evan Weaver) and with their offense, that seems to be enough. Great job by Radio.
Is that what we are calling Karl Dorrell now? If so, I like it. That's awesome lol.
I think that's what he was called when he was at UCLA (probably started by SC fans lol). So far he's doing great on his return to the Pac-12.

Half the guys on the list have only played one game (West, Garbers, Morris, Mills, Gunnell, Daniels). I think it is kinda premature to draw any conclusions from this information (unless, of course, you are attempting to unfairly critique a particular player's performance).
Whats interesting is the OSU board is not happy with their qb, even if the stats are decent. They claim he is not very accurate or mobile and can't throw the deep ball.
There have been questions to the coach from the media about benching Gebbia. He is not. But there is a lot of discontent there.

I don't think anyone around here is thinking of benching Garbers right now. He has some positive history on his side.

I basically think that the team was tired due to Wilcox getting them up early the day before and the stress of all of this mixing around. They will be better prepared this week. Garbers looked exhausted when he went out on the field, and so did the linemen. And they played like it.

That's a very old nickname
Predates my involvement with message boards lol. But I do recall watching old UCLA Karl Dorrell.

Keep the Radio name alive and well!

Cal gave Sonny $10 million to go away the year after his team won 8 games.
Sonny's Cal teams never beat a good team. NEVER. The eight games they won in 2015 were against mediocre or bad opponents. If the buyout really was $10mil, the mistake was giving it to him in the first place, not the firing.
Maybe, but I sure enjoyed beating Texas in Austin while sitting among 100,000 burnt orange clad fans. BBQ was good too. Definitely one of my favorite Cal games of all time.
Aside from getting the Axe back last year, what other Wilcox wins thus far have been really good? Beating Ole Miss twice was alright but expected, perhaps Washington last year? Dykes didn't have any great wins but beating Texas twice was awesome, whereas Wilcox has the Axe but not many feel good wins beyond that (Washington State in 2017 doesn't really cut it for me anyway).

Disagree
big Game 2019
UW 2018 and 2019
USC 2018
UCLA 2019
wSU 2019
Illinois 2019
Ole Miss
UNC
Were all very satisfying
Washington State and Illinois last year were all very satisfying? They were wins but eh...

Disagree. WSU 2019 was as satisfying as WSU 2017. Modster had a pretty good game along with the rest of the Cal offense (particularly Polk) when I was expecting a loss (since Garbers was still out).
Illinois was satisfying. It was a bowl game win against a BIG10 Team that was on the rise. Even though the game was close most of the way, I felt that Cal had the game under control for the entire second half. This was a unique feeling for me. At Cal games I worry until the Clock is down to 0:00 and Cal has the lead. Even then I look to make sure there are no penalty flags on the field.

The loss was on the entire team.
The D missed critical tackles and was out of position and couldn't stop the run.
The OLine couldn't provide pass protection or open holes for runners.
The receivers dropped way too many passes (especially in 3rd down).
Garbers was nowhere near as accurate as he was the 2nd half of 2019.
If we are going to bench Garbers, we might as well bench all starters on Offense and Defense.
