Not an air raid guy, in a purist sense. I do like the philosophy from a teaching and install standpoint though. Simplification is good, in terms of execution and tempo.

I do lean spread, but that's just modern times for you.

Just when I look at what we have to work with with both skills and OL, and what's been effective, it's a little painful to watch some of this.

Killa, I need to pick your brain on the slide blocking scheme. I remember Tedford using it and then not seeing it since. Maybe after the game you can do a bit of a brain dump on this. I'm sure MinotStBeav could do a core dump on this topic too.

Slide is just one tool, in this case what's getting us is full slide (I.e. everyone blocks down basically). It's more of a quick game / gap cancelling protection.

It's what got us in trouble vs UCLA last week. But that was due for the show-blitz looks we were given.

The problem with full slide, at times is that you get bad matchups like that sack was Rb on DE.

I have some issues with max protection because data shows you get more pressure and a higher sack rate with more numbers in blocking and those are aggregated stats.

Further, what gets me is that we got a slot guy in Remigio who is a weapon. Two touches and he almost houses it twice on spec teams.

In this pro set deal, he has zero touches.

But cool, tight ends and fullbacks.

Whatever it is, it better be a helluva lot better than the unimaginative playcalling that we have seen so far in this game, otherwise this game is likely an L.
