GL to Marks dealing with Kyrie. Add in Harden and Nets are going to boil over. Durant alone can get them to the playoffs but those other two stars are not all-in.

Seems like almost zero chance the three of them are still there in a year and a half... at most. Probably not in nine months.

I don't know what Sean Marks' plan is, but I sure wouldn't want Hardin on my roster, except as trade bait. Pretty much the same for Kyrie. How's Kevin Durant going to like this?

Those far off draft picks and pick swaps Houston received could be pretty tasty once the Nets blow up.

Yeah, who knows? But I'd say the Harden that KD knew in OKC was a much different player than the one he is now. This will be a fascinating experiment that could make or break Sean's GM stint.

I certainly don't root against Marks.

However, if Irving and Hardin sink this team, I will not be surprised.

I love Durant's game, but his decision to leave the Dubs to play with Irving I can't fathom. And now he has an equally dubious team player in Hardin to contend with.

The Owner(s) are always involved in trades like this - they need to approve and sign off on this kind of large asset exchange. So the final decision must not have been solely Sean's call.

Comments I've heard from "expert" commentators are that that Durant wanted Harden on the Nets. That said, I agree this looks like a very combustible mix of talent. Harden has the look of a great individual performer whose net contribution to team success is negative. Kyrie is looking ever more like a head case. Whether they ever win a title, this may be a financial success just on the basis of ticket sales if fans are ever let back into the buildings.

Harden carried the Rockets for large stretches by putting up 40 point games night after night. He came back from a month long strip club and fried chicken bender looking like a YMCA grandma and is still absolutely cooking people.

They might implode, but because it will be because of injury, lack of depth, and being a bunch of headcases chasing each other out of town (Kyrie being the most problematic, yet the least good lol...), not because Harden was a net negative.

He's been the #1 seed, he was one win away from beating a KD+Curry Warriors team. He did that with his 3rd best player being Clint Capela or Eric Gordon. Maybe MJ or Lebron win a championship in those circumstances, but nobody is comparing Harden to them.

Yeah, seems like a lot of 2+2=47 kind of math. He was unhappy in Houston, and got out. Not sure how that figures into what happens with the Nets.
We will see what happens with Kyrie, and do the Nets have enough pieces in general to make it to the finish line.
