What a joke this team has become. And Haase needs serious scrutiny after losing the last five games of the season in ignominious fashion. Is he really the person to bring Cardinal basketball out of the wilderness? Far from clear to me. All the good will and expectations this team built up have been squandered. Bleak indeed.

Hyder is a turnover machine. He traveled on that play. We are lucky they didn't call it. Thrown it away twice against the press. This is where Brown's poor free throw shooting really hurts. Guess Foreman is hurt. We lack ball handlers.

NBA level players, very little results.HoopDreams said:Haase must be one of the biggest under achievers in college basketballoskidunker said:

This is the best game I've seen up play all season. We played hard, smart, together, and most of all the shots went down. How to keep it going?
I thought our best half was @ Utah and our best game was v. CU. This was a lot of fun though!91Cal said:stu said:

This team has played like this for portions of games, but never a whole game and rarely (ever?) closing out a game.

Unbelievable to allow that score, but he had 6 seconds because of our horrible play on the other side
If you are going to run a last play you got to start later so it truly is the last shot

Matt Bradley is SO VERY special. (I hope we can forever put to rest the nonsense we heard earlier from some (including Mike Montgomery) about Bradley being a poor passer and selfish offensive player.)
Such a fun game. Congrats to the team! Go Bears!!

Also CU will be ready for Jalen Celestine. Remember he went off for 4 triples. That put CU on their heels all game. But maybe they will overplay him which gives Matt more space. We also contained McKinley Wright probably better than anyone (I recall Joel Brown had the assignment and stepped up big). We have a chance if we can lock him up again, but that will be hard.HearstMining said:
Great win for the Bears! I'll bet Tad Boyle notices the problems that Hyder had with the Stanford press towards the end of the game. Hopefully Fox gets the guys out before tonight's game to walk through their press break.
I loved the game, except for that shot by Betley. You don't ever do that in any sport, with the game already over, scoring a final time when you are way ahead with a few seconds left on the clock, sticking it in the opponent's face, rubbing salt in the opponent's wound. Haase may get fired, but Stanford players will remember that lack of sportsmanship for a long time, and many of them will face Cal again next year, in a PO'd frame of mind. If he didn't realize the score, maybe he has an excuse, otherwise it was selfish or dumb.concernedparent said:
Love it. Betley drilling the 3 from 26 ft out with time left on the shot clock.
The shot clock was about to expire. You don't just give them the ball back.SFCityBear said:I loved the game, except for that shot by Betley. Agreed. In the shot-clock era, you take the shot in the last few seconds. No opposing coach/team would disagree.MoragaBear said:The shot clock was about to expire. I get your point and generally agree. But my take that was that Betley was not used to being in this situation (game in hand, Cal up big) so his instincts kicked in (unaware of the score excuse). Maybe if it happens more often in the very near future, he can wait until the shot clock expires. I don't really think any of the Stanford players will exact revenge next season.SFCityBear said:I loved the game, except for that shot by Betley.
