Could see 2022 5* guard Skyy Clark follow him to Arizona State

Does anyone think Fox would try to add Akinjo? Would probably need to add a transfer wing as well to even be competitive next season.

All quiet on the recruiting front. I have a feeling we will add at least one player this spring. Anyone on this list would be a huge get. Unfortunately, not getting my hopes up.

Best Available Basketball Transfers, 3.0: Impact players still available

I'd be shocked if Akingo was interested in playing for a BDW and I'd be shocked if Fox would take him based on his history. I'd also guess Fox would rather get a starting pg and a big than a pg and a wing, but I believe he only has room for one at the moment.

The draw I see for Akinjo would be playing at home in front of family and friends for his final college season and eventually getting a Cal degree (if he even cares about that). But yeah, I agree it's more of a long-shot, but IMO worth an effort if you're Fox...unless he's cool with his roster as it stands. If he is, he might as well pack his bags for when he's eventually dismissed. Not saying Akinjo is some great player or anything (he's not my favorite type of PG...too ball-dominant and gets tunnel-vision when he drives...and 3 seasons of FG% under 40% tell us he struggles with his shot selection), but him and another established player would give at least faint hope of getting this team out of the cellar. Perhaps we shouldn't be rooting for Fox to add anyone, lol.

He's a tall, skilled, athletic and basketball-savy front court player. Why on earth would Fox be interested in him?

When is our announcement for the third best player on a middle of the road Ivy League team grad transfer?

When is our announcement for the third best player on a middle of the road Ivy League team grad transfer? 6'6" forward. 55% foul shooter but can rebound.

I am 99% sure we will get somebody, but to KoreAmbears' point, our annual Ivy League grad transfer is a high probability. And that is fine, as long as Fox doesn't play him more minutes than any other player and have him take the far and away the most 3s on the team (unless he actually is our top shooter, then by all means).

What's depressing about this thread is that there's no "offseason noise" to report. Radio silence from California Basketball.

Who would want come here unless its for the graduate education. An extremely dissatisfied player who wants more playing time at the end of his career? Maybe. If he cant go anywhere else to get the prime time exposure .our best hope is someone good who has had a falling out with current coach.

Jamal Boykin and Marcus Lee kinda fit that description. Smart, top recruits who went to a powerhouse and then got recruited over. Figured out that going to Cal and being a starter while earning a good degree was a better option than staying buried on the depth chart. They had no issues with their previous coaches and had no issues with the Cal coaches at the time.

Stanford guard Daejon Davis signed with Washington

Arizona guard Terrell Brown Jr. signed with Washington.

West Virginia SF Emmitt Mathews Jr. signed with Washington

And the #1 Juco pF Langston Wilson recommitted from Alabama to sign with UW

Not good for Cal that the schools that finished above us at #10 and #11 are recruiting better and getting more highly rated transfers.

Good luck to Fox. Sad that we can see how this is going to go down but it will take another year for us to move on digging us deeper into the dark recesses of BDW-ville. I hope Dennis Gates or Shantay Legans is available next March. But Knowlton will probably pick someone like Mike Gottfried or Tim Floyd. *sigh*

Sure seems like Remy 'VSOP" Martin has already been at ASU for 7-8 years, minimum. I wanna say he was a freshman when Eddie House torched us for 61 points in... 2000!

Here is another example of the rich gets richer

ASU had a very good team this year (that under-performed) but most of the team is transferring out, including their star player (if he doesn't get drafted, and in my opinion there is a good chance he doesn't as his game and measurables don't translate well to the NBA)

And if he transfers, does he go to another solid team like ASU or does he go to a team capable of a run at the final four

I have my guess, but I think he's like AZ PG Akinjo who transferred to Baylor

Martin is transferring to Kansas -- moving from one adidas program to another.

Congratulations to him on getting his employer to approve his transfer from their Tempe office to their Lawrence office. Maybe he'll even get a raise in connection with the move. ;-)
