He might be OK somewhere else, like a service academy. But I can't imagine a worse fit for Cal.

I do think Cal finished second for Aligbe. Which does not help. Will go back to stealing players from the Big Sky like this year's class. Maybe. Only three players are documented to have visited and they all went elsewhere.philbert said:
but we made the top 4 lists for both Uzan and Aligbe! Give him another year and he'll crack the top 3 for next year's prospects.

I believe it's officially two. Someone else would have to leave to get the 3, but I'm not sure we'll need to worry about that. People aren't exactly lining up to play for Fox.sluggo said:
How many scholarships does Cal have to give? Three (Kelly, Grant A., Shepherd)? Or was there a covid increase that will be reduced? It is my understanding that Foreman is a covid freebee.
That makes sense. There are 11 coming back, if they all do, so plus 2 makes 13. I should have done two minutes of research before posting.philbert said:I believe it's officially two. For some reason VC gives Celestine only 2 stars. But they give our incoming freshies 3, 3, and 4 stars. Either something is inaccurate or I'm going to be really pleased with our freshies.
Just to clarify, those insisting stars don't matter on the BI football boards also predicted a breakout season for the Bears.Big C said:stu said:

I have been reading the BI football boards and have concluded that either stars don't matter or they do.
Celestine was underrated for a reason. He played on a very good high school team and hung on the perimeter and shots 3s. During spring of his junior year he turned it on in the AAU circuit showing a much more complete game. Then he got hurt and did not play his senior season. If you check the archives (not that you should) I was high on Celestine when he came in. I thought of him as a high 3/low 4 recruit.stu said:

You forgot the truth about stars: They matter except when applied to Cal because the staff is incredible at finding undervalued recruits, have you ever heard of Alex Mack?Big C said:stu said:

So, now that we had one more recruit shun us, who is next? HoopDreams, has Fox been scouting the pick up games?

So as far as I can tell Cal has received only three visits and all those players have committed elsewhere. I can't find anything new on twitter. Momentum is low.
Sounds pretty depressing.sluggo said:Celestine was underrated for a reason. He played on a very good high school team and hung on the perimeter and shots 3s. I see Anyanwu as a low 3. Athletic enough, but not big enough to play inside and without having developed a perimeter game. I see Alajiki and Roberson as two stars, athletic but low skills like Bowser. With their athleticism they do have room to grow. I like that Roberson is left handed, I think that is underrated, but he cannot shoot. Alajiki might be a better shooter but he is super raw. I would be surprised if any of them contribute much this year, they are not there yet. But of course this is based on tape from last year, I am not an insider.

In case anyone cares the early signing period is 11/10-11/17. It seems as though ND Okafor will sign. In another thread 4thgen said Cal brought in a player over the weekend. I assume he does not want to say who it was. Nothing on twitter. Hopefully that player can score if he choose to go to Cal.
