I love the guy but Joel still has no offensive game. Oh boy.

Shepherd seems to be the one guy that can create a shot.

Grant has disappeared today.

Where is the improvement that we heard about from Kuany?

Yep, much love for our players but the future is not bright.

Wins are going to be hard to come by and these kinds of games are the best chance. So much for something different in the Fox era. Just like with Wilcox, it's just not happening.

Blown out by a team that was in Division 2 a couple of years ago.

At least we won the umbrella war.

Fire FOX right after the game! No reason to see anymore of this. UCSD is still transitioning from D2. Just a total failure. #FireFox
agree ... don't prolong the agony

how could his assistant be any worse??

"Now entering his second season on Mark Fox's staff, California men's basketball assistant Andrew Francis joined the Golden Bears in April 2019 with nearly two decades of Division I basketball coaching experience, including stints at Iowa, where he helped in rejuvenating the Hawkeyes program back into national prominence, and at perennial powerhouse Villanova."

Just take Braun from the tv booth as interim. Seriously. Tell me he'd be worse

Cal is the team I said they were in the offseason. No improvement of any player, except for Kelly getting in shape. Freshmen unplayable. And they are headed even lower with the top three players from today's game not here next year.

Yes, promote Francis. This is not working. Just like Wilcox. Time to start over. Again.

If we are this bad against UCSD what is possible national champ fUCLA gonna do to us? That will be ugly!

Tritons made the same number of field goals on 14 fewer shots: UCSD 24-46, Cal 24-60

The difference right here: 10 3s for UCSD, 5 for Cal; UCSD 22-28 on free throws, Cal 14-24. No reason to have a FT percentage that poor.

5 more points for UCSD on 3s (b/c they had 14 2s and 10 3s while Cal had 19 2s and 5 3s), and 8 more points on FTs. 13 point margin of victory.

That we would get here has been obvious since the moment Fox was hired, as is our future under him.

I cannot believe Knowlton just got an 8 year extension.

This was a Wyking level loss. Good lord, what a total embarrassment.

Looking forward to Fox throwing the players under the bus and not taking accountability for this. The excuses are coming.

You and I have been aligned on Fox. I did not know as much about his Georgia teams as you did, but it was clear after watching Cal play a few times under him that hope was lost. In today's game Cal had a huge quickness advantage with Brown and size advantage with Kelly. Shepherd is better than I though 1-against-1. But the game turned into Shepherd going 1-against-2 and no taking advantage of Brown or Kelly. I think the offense would have been better if Brown had been made the coach today.

Knowlton is the worst of the worst, but I guess he is good at exploiting his cultural affinity with the donor class. Which might be the most important part of the job, what do I know.

UCSD is actually a good team. They're great shooters and very well coached. We simply aren't very good, but I wouldn't be surprised if UCSD wins a bunch of games including some big opponents.

They just moved up from Div2 and joined the Big West last year finishing 10th in conference.

There is no excuse for us not having a team at least as takebted and well coached as The team that finished 10th of 11 I. The Big West last year.

Grant looked unstoppable v. CSULA but now when he had D1 players guarding him, he struggled badly. But he's had good games against good teams before so we just need to get him going.

Shepherd looks pretty good. He might be an apt replacement for Bradley (who is probably laughing now).

Joel - such a good kid, but how is he still stuck on offense like he's a freshman?

Hyder -- kind of looks the same and nothing really stands out yet.

Kuany -- looks the same, so disappointing considering people were saying how much he improved. Show us.

Kelly -- was having his way early but then they started running other guys at him. We are going to need to play off that to our advantage. People need to cut, we need rotation off those double teams -- we don't see too much of that.

We missed Jalen and Foreman today, but there's still no excuse why we couldn't beat them without these guys.

They were actually selling Aaron Rodgers bobbleheads at a table inside Haas. My friend asked if they were free.

This.

The lack of movement off the ball on offense was disappointing. Needs to be coached up asap.

Celestine would have helped, but everything else the same it would still be a loss. Grant A. did have an off game, he is a quality player. But the talent is very, very low and the coaching is abysmal. Kuany is the one player with unrealized potential, and he should play near the basket. UCSD had nothing underneath but Fox had no idea how to exploit it. And their guards were so slow.

Looks like we finished with a grand total of 4 assists, with no player getting more than one. That's not pretty. And how would it have looked if Shepherd had been out?
