Sheppard sees a lane and Cal extends to 72-66.
But, Cal is letting Brown run the show and, well, Brown to the line is not a gimmee.

Grant with two though and Cal 74-66

Is Fox nervous - with 11.6 to go, he calls time to make sure Bears know what to do.

74-66 still

8.9 and Sheppard to the line. Cal still leads 74-67 before the shots.

The Bears are back! Any truth to the rumor that was Jayda Curry wearing Kuany's number?

USD with a three at the buzzer. Palms of victory 75-70.
But ... well ... the Pac12 is likely tougher than USD

That's about it. We couldn't afford to lose this one. Happy for the guys. Enjoy! Go Bears!

I don't understand how there can possibly be three San Diegos. And if we lose to this next one, we will be 0-3 (lost Bradley to the other one). San Freakin' Diego?!?

Has any team ever lost to UC Berkeley, Berkeley City College and Berklee School of Music? (Not recently, for sure, because that would mean they lost to us.)
UC San Diego (the comparative baby). It could have been called UC LaJolla but some lobbying.....

University of San Diego. Catholic school. Similar to USF or U of Santa Clara

San Diego State University. I believe the first CSU. Was originally San Diego Teachers College. Has a somewhat "interesting" relationship with the CSU system as it sees itself different than the Fullertons and Bakersfields of the world. Has LONG aspired to becoming a doctoral granting institution and generally CSU system (and UCs) have pushed back HARD on that. Hasn't stopped SDSU from wishing and wanting.

I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that there are THREE San Diegos. Is this really necessary? I mean, I believe it (the one we played last week, the one we played this week and the one that got Bradley... I can count). But why? I might be willing to concede that we need one, at most. If that.

You call yourself socaltownie? La Jolla is NOT a city, it's a zip code (92037) and a community. Anything in La Jolla is in the city of San Diego. Of course, they'd love to separate off, but that is never happening, too many tax dollars.

Hey, I think the Bears won tonight...imagine that.

Lars fakes the dunk - makes the lay-in. Ok - maybe he didn't fake the dunk so much as he just couldn't gather himself. But points is points.

3:15 to go. Cal 66 USD 60
can't argue with results, but he needed to go up for a two hand dunk

if he gets fouled so be it, but that move is for 5-9 guards, not 7 foot centers

UCSF, USF and SF State. And SF is a smaller city. Yes, I know UCSF is a grad/med school. We should have scheduled these schools. We'd kill UCSF's rec team.
