Our offense looked a lot better than I expected. We got a lot of open shots and made some not-so-open ones.

Shepherd had 8 boards, Brown 7, and Celestine 5. That's almost as many as the entire OSU team. Big plus.

Joel and others locked Lucas down. Alatishe got his, but I think the game plan was not to let Lucas go off. Good job.

I go to the games with my son, who knows a lot more about basketball than I do. He made an interesting comment tonight. When Fox pulled Brown after a lazy pass that led to a breakaway he said he wished Fox would leave him in because the defense goes downhill when he's out and the offense gets a little stagnet. On cue the lead nearly evaporates.

Not to excuse the casual passing, though.

I hope that the folks who have been criticizing Shepherd from day1 back off now. He has had a hand injury that has affected his shooting and he has tried to play through it (though shooting a bit too much in the early games for my taste). I thought that he played a really good game tonight. One kudo to Fox for keeping the ball in Shepherd's hands rather than Joel Brown's in the last few minutes when Oregon State had to foul us. Nice win for the Bears as was the Fresno State game. It was fun to watch them tonight except for the final 6 minutes or so of the first half. Will try to attend some of the remaining out of conference games in person as I believe this team deserves our support.

Great win Bears! Was at work but am heading home to see the extended highlights.
