I will probably be accused of being delusional, and unrealistically suddenly overrating this year's team, but from the same standpoint of feeling Cal played a really good game vs. Seton Hall, I felt the Bears could have played a WHOLE LOT BETTER last night.
For starters, that Oregon State team was terrible. No surprise that they have won only one game. Felt like in this particular game the Bears should have won by 25 to 30. Yes our defense was decent, but OSU really lacks offense.
Next. I'm a big Joel Brown fan. Constantly backing and defending him at this site. But there is no excuse for those lazy passes. He can be better than that. Fox doesn't like taking him out because of his defense, but in the mid second half he felt he had to, to send Joel a message.
And I know it is what it is, but sometimes Grant can be SO slow on the dribble, and his reactions can be slow. I understand when SFCity says he needs to drive to keep the defense honest, but based on his ability he needs to pick and choose when to do so. If he is on the weak side and there's an opening I'm all for it. But he should not be dribbling through traffic. Too many times last night. About eight minutes into the second half his presence was really hurting us. Thought maybe he was gassed but Fox left him in another three minutes. I think Fox needs to be more carefuly with the way he distributes Grant's minutes.
OTOH, Andre and Jordan were awesome. Anyway, that's what I got for now.
