Cal has 11 days off before the Stanfurd game? Sometimes a layoff provides time to heal up but this is so long we could get rusty.

Any insights into why the time off is so long this year? Don't recall seeing this ever before.

From past schedules, Cal typically takes a 7-8 day break between that last game before Christmas and the conference games after break.

However instead of the typical two conference games in a week, with one on Weds/Thursday and one on the weekend. But this year, Cal plays Stanford on Sunday, and there is not paired game mid-week, so the break is a little longer than it usually is.

Team has 23-25th off and then practice starts up afternoon of 26th. Break good for the guys (about half are leaving the area - rest staying here and staff has a dinner planned for them). Overall healthy break mentally and physically - have remembered a game after the break, but with the extra conf games added, hard to do.
