of course, by far the nicest hotel in Berkeley is the Claremont, but a long walk to Haas

Brand new Residence Inn just opened on Center between Shattuck and Oxford next to the art museum and across the street from the Center Street Top Dog. No idea if it's any good but it's big and looks expensive. Valet parking costs $49 overnight! Ten to 15 minute walk to Haas.

I didn't know there was a new hotel in downtown Berkeley, and surprised there hasn't been one for all these years

there are some restaurants around that area too ranging from casual to nice

Convenient to Haas and not far from restaurants on Shattuck or Telegraph.

What was the name of that Berkeley hotel that one of our football coaches used to stay at some afternoons? That was before he found better employment.

I somehow never knew of this hotel, and it is very close to Haas

I stayed at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza last night due to not paying attention to the closing time of the Oxford City Garage. The garage was locked up when I got there after the USC game.

The Hotel Tonight app had a good rate at the Plaza, so I stayed there. I was offered a choice of beer or glass of wine at check in and the person at the front desk was helpful. The restaurant is closed, but they offered a few items for breakfast. The bar was closed when I got there around 10:30 pm. My room was nice and kind of small but fine for me.

It is a well kept up older hotel. I had stayed there a few years ago and had eaten at the restaurant too.

The hotel Shattuck plaza is an excellent overnighter for a game at Haas. Easy 10 minute walk on Bancroft. My wife was there alone a couple of years ago and felt very safe, secure.
