Okay, this is about as simplistic of an observation that can be made. Watched Arizona vs. the furd last night, man did they look good.
I've enjoyed following Cal Basketball for over a half century. But I'm really not looking forward to Sunday's game. Really doubt there's anything the current squad can really do to slow Arizona down. I know the offensive philosophy has a chance to keep things from getting out of hand, but it still looks like this one will be a slow bit of agony. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, we gave our tickets away to a friend of my son. Mostly because we cant stand the annoying Arizona fans that will be there doing that ****ty chant. Covid, no chance to win other factors.

Like your optimism. But for a trap game to work successfully, the underdog has to be within the realm of upset ability. Just don't see it in this game.

Well, let's use our collective BI brain trust to come up with a Memo to Coach Fox re Hoop Strategy in Custer's Last Stand Scenarios:

1. Have players way down our bench go in and subtly bait Arizona players into throwing punches (Wayne Womack always got in fights with Brian Hendricks) so they get ejected;
2. Once we get behind, only shoot 3 pointers;
3. Put stick'em on the ball and keep doing it every time they change balls;
4. After every foul contact stay on floor rolling around in pain for the maximum time you can get away with it;
5. Our players do coordinated cheer leader dance steps after every huddle break;
6. Find the loophole in every NCAA and PAC 12 in game rule and exploit it (there has to be a software program for this);
7. Have the score keeper continually screw up the score (always in Cal's favor) for as long as he can get away with it;
8. Have our cheer squad do bizarre and inappropriate routines on court;
9. ?

In the old days without a shot clock, you just did the 4 corner stall and lost 20-14. These days the massive underdog has to get creative.

well they have two 7 foot centers, with their starting center averaging over 3 blocks/game. when the opponent have a long rim protector it makes it extremely difficult for this Cal team's guards/wings to score around the basket

Hopefully Kelly can still score on him and/or get him in foul trouble with his strong footwork

I see Lars coming in when their backup 7 footer plays

The troubling thing is they have a new coach, and seem to be playing BETTER than the recent past, and they have a young team with mostly sophs/juniors in their starting five

9) Get old Mayor Rudy to organize 1 through 8.
