Durant has reached that level of self-importance, that it would be unlikely that he would listen to anyone on a coach's salary, unless he felt really good about that coach personally. Fox, were he to have the chance to coach Durant, might be acceptable to the superstar, because Fox's players, in general, seem to like him. Of course, Montgomery seemed to be liked by most of his college players, and he failed trying to coach the Warriors. Umm, no. I had family members killed by the Chinese Communists and my ancestral home was also stolen by the CCP. There is no amount of money that would be enough to pay to become a stooge for the CCP. Some of us understand what honor, ethics, and integrity mean.* Unfortunately, those terms are entirely foreign to NBA superstars (and other stars) who suckle at the CCP teat.
*I recently turned down a Chinese client who offered to hire me to represent a major multi-billion Chinese-based corporation in US litigation on the condition I kicked back a payment to the client for hiring me. So yeah, I'm not just speaking in hypotheticals.
