From the College Basketball Hot Seat Report (updated Jan 11):
Haase was lucky that Cal started so bad because it took the attention of of him, but now the Cardinal are in last place (5-10, 0-5 Pac-12) and just lost to Cal. Haase's seat is engulfed in flames, at this point.
And unlike us they have 5*s don't they? He sucks.stu said:

For what is worth, as a high school junior, Devin Askew was rated #28, a very high 4* in the RCSI top 100, and a 5* by ESPN), so he was borderline 5*. I think he has looked overrated so far, but with his teammates improving their play, that may make a difference for him and us.KoreAmBear said:And unlike us they have 5*s don't they? Can't imagine Haase doesn't get fired. He has some good recruiters on his staff and has good talent on his team, but he is just a really bad coach. Scheme, substitutions, motivation/communications, he is just another one of these relatively young guys trying to be midwestern old school. It worked OK in Birmingham Alabama but it is not a good fit for Stanford (or Cal).
They just might fire him mid season but I don't think there is anyone on staff that good, though morale would improve.

I'd say the next 3. Colorado is always tough in Boulder and they're likely to remember the beatdown we laid on them for the first 30 minutes in Berkeley.

This week is big for sorting out the PAC-12, both at the top and at the bottom.
Thurs/Friday Gamesnof note:
3-5 UW at 3-5 Colorado
4-3 Oregon @ 2-5 Cal
1-5 OSU @ 0-7 Furd

That's what being a Cal Basketball fan has become: sorting out the bottom.
Nevertheless, I am headed to the Haas in about an hour.

Good luck at the game and much respect for going. Any fan that pays to go to multiple games during the Fox era (it is quickly becoming an era) deserves to have their names etched into some of the seats.
Nah we always have Furd.stu said:
Don't miss the Oregon State game. That will probably be our best chance for a win.
If today's game didn't drive your friend away she must really like you.

Yes, we always have a chance against Stanford but tonight they beat Oregon State by 21. I still see two more wins coming.KoreAmBear said:Nah we always have Furd.stu said:

I think we have last place locked up now. I can't see any more wins this season. Sad. Very sad.

The one game they played together we scored 43, our lowest of the year. Askew and Brown started, each playing 27 minutes scoring 7 and 4 points respectively. Clayton came off the bench, played 22 scoring 5. They combined for 4 assists and 8 turnovers.

It was not memorable. Our worst output, albeit against a pretty good team (Utah).
I don't think it makes sense go three guards and play Brown, Askew and Clayton together (although if Alajiki is out….). So it is 2 of the three at any time. It is better than the alternative, but an incremental improvement, not a quantum leap.
