No Clayton, Askew, or Alajiki.

Brutal.

Maybe Bowser and Roberson will have big days.

The announcers just said Askew would play with limited minutes.

Yeah weird and Alajiki wasn't on the list of guys out but the pregame show said he was in street clothes.

Have we seen any player injured during a game or are the injuries happening in practices?

I don't remember any obvious injuries during game play but something could have happened during a game which didn't appear serious at the time.

Askew has yet to play in a single Cal win?

Fox must be beating these players up in practice, blaming them for the blow out loses. Clayton had a headache and now he is in street clothes? If this were not so tragic,it would be funny.

askew was injured in a game

But pretty sure most of the other injuries occurred in practice.

i don't know. players are often playing hurt and get beat up every game. Ton of hard contact.

sometimes its cumulative and you need to rest players otherwise a minor injury becomes a major one

Fox doesn't want his team healthy. I swear, they get a scratch and he benches them. Why exactly was Alajiki out?

I predict we won't have a full lineup (not counting Celestine) for the rest of the season.

I wonder what the players are thinking. If they feel they can play but are told not to, this could be another major problem for Fox and the program.

If Fox is going to set a record for losses he wants to be sure he also sets a record for most games lost to injuries. That way he and Knowlton can put an asterisk next to the record (that only they will care about).

I am surprised that no one has quit the team.

I expect another mass exodus.

Fox recruited all of our players except Brown so I'm sure they knew what they were getting in to. However I'd be surprised if any of them use their extra year of eligibility at Cal.

if that were true, wouldn't he also want to win the oregon state game?

why would he unnecessarily hold out two key players and decrease the probability of beating last place OSU at home?

how does that improve his chance to be retained?

It's the excuse. A 3 and 29 record with excuses might be more convincing than a 6 and 26 record without excuses.

I'm quite sure the medical staff has the final say on injured players and when they can return.

He has spent the whole season pushing the injury narrative as the main reason for the worst season in program history. He even put a graphic up on the Haas videoboard with an injury counter. Any chance he gets, he spouts this excuse.

If he can can continue pumping these numbers to Knowlton, it will make his case for retention better.

I think he's scared to have a full lineup because deep down he knows the talent's not good enough and that the results will be the same. And thus his injury excuse is kaput.

Clayton played against Oregon but was reportedly suffering from migraines. Then against OSU he was in street clothes?

Moreover, they mostly know that if they enter the portal they are not going to a good team where they have a chance to play. They do not know enough to be able to evaluate the basketball coaching they are receiving. They value the Cal degree which is being paid for, and enduring losing and getting yelled at is just the price of that Cal degree.
