Honestly, if you are born "Tinkle" or "Jakimovski", don't you start the name-change process the day you turn 18?

A time of unprecedented danger: It is 90 seconds to midnight

2023 Doomsday Clock Announcement
March 8,2023
This year, the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moves the hands of the Doomsday Clock forward, largely (though not exclusively) because of the mounting dangers of the war in Ukraine. The Clock now stands at 90 seconds to midnightthe closest to global catastrophe

The announcers say Fox has the off season to turn this around. Idiots, including Roxy.lies, false praise and bullshyt.

Realistic goals for the second half:

+ drop 50 on 'em (possible)
+ hold the Cougs under 80

We can do this! Go Bears!

Check and check. (Heck, we held 'em under 70!) Moral victory!

That's it 3-29…just a painful end to an embarrassing Fox era. An incompetent AD hired an out of work coach that was a bad fit from the beginning. We can't allow Knowlton to select the next coach!!

i don't see cal pulling this out

with no fouls on gueye in first half he can be as aggressive as he wants. could get ugly in the paint. amazing he needs to be a 3 in NBA

neither Lars or Okofor pass well when they get ball in low block. they always try to score despite double teams

cal not winning on any stat except steals

interesting espn missed scored 2 rebounds. crediting Sam instead of Lars
Okafor was 2nd on our team in assists today (with 2).

You called it again!

Singleton also had no conscience. In the 5-OT game against Oregon he came in as a freshmen after somebody fouled out and nobody else was left on the bench. First thing he did was jack up a three (except there was no 3-point shot then). It went in.

Joel Brown was, among other things, our leading rebounder today. What a heart!

That was an amazing game to be at: The late Gene Ransom with 36 and Oregon's Greg Ballard with 43 in a losing effort (or something like that... from memory).

The Bears will rise again!

Monty continues to impress with his added PT, gaining confidence and experience. He's got the ideal length and a sweet pull up and what's surprising me is his 3 point shooting

another bright spot was Lars' defense on Gueye

but overall the game was never in question, and although it was a big loss (17 pts) it could have been 25-30. shocking that WSU simply out classed us.

they have two legit stars, but some good role players. most frustrating was backup guard scored 11 points on 3-4 threes and a clean drive for a layup!

very irritating was the flopping that is obviously taught by the coach. MORE irritating was Rodman with his clearly intentional flops and dirty play (elbows, clear outs, etc) just like his father

too bad 2K didnt break his tooth instead of Jakomoski who is also a tough player but not a dirty player

so it was win or go home

maybe the players can have a nice buffet before they head out

I have the utmost respect for people's names that only need the addition of one word to constitute a sentence….but if your name constitutes a sentence without any words added, that, my son, is one crackerjack of a name!

Whose head coach used to live in the East Bay and was hired from San Francisco within a couple days of Cal hiring Fox.

You would hope that if a preliminary search had begun someone would have reached out to Pasternak, and if so, I'm sure he tells his brother-in-law.

Knowlton was waiting until the season was over before he even begins his evaluation, which might involve hiring a high priced consulting firm to analyze the 3-29 season to see if adequate excuses can be found.

You must wait until the players return to their residences and coach is all tucked in at home.
Otherwise, really awkward plane/bus. Not necessary.

Just out of morbid curiosity, I wonder what Knowlton has done thus far to facilitate the change. I say "morbid" because I think there's a decent chance that he hasn't done anything, except for maybe having talked to a few major donors (at their initiative).

If JK hasn't filed all the paperwork at this point then he is totally negligent. I would actually take another year of Fox if that guaranteed that JK was terminated tomorrow.

He's putting together a task force to see how this season compares to all others. Supposedly should be done in 6 months but who knows.

On a serious note, if Knowlton "learned" about how to let a coach go from last time, look out: In another thread, they say he didn't can Wyking Jones until March 24th and I definitely remember that one was kind of back-and-forth ragged (almost kept him, then changed mind, etc.). I could picture him going through a deliberate process of "post-season interviews and evaluations" that lasts a good week, maybe two.

If we're lucky, he has already called the search firm, although he might not feel that that would be ethical since Fox is still employed. Then, since he caught criticism for hiring Fox too quickly, maybe he tells the search firm to slow down and take an extra week before presenting him with their "short list". Oh, and they charge by the week.

So, Fox is let go on Thursday, 3/16 and the new coach is announced on Thursday, 3/30. Do I believe that? I wanna say "no", but based on four years ago...
