congratulations to markeisha everrett on leading the cal's men basketball team to a 17th outta 18th finish in the 2024/2025 acc attendance standings, her decision to again not offer FREE tickets to all students wuz genius in building the fanbase & a future pipeline to Builders of Berkeley...markeisha does this **** with NO EFFORT at my old palace haas pavilion
https://theacc.com/stats.aspx?path=mbball&year=2024

and congrats to james arthur knowlton & jennifer simon-o'neil on yet another seasons in the sun without any mentions of the critically needed dedicated basketball practice facility...jimmy & jenny know that the hoopers can always go over to the outdoor courts at montera middle school if they wanna work on their games!!

this is why chancellor lyons needs to also hire a basketball general manager for both teams that operates & fundraises separately from the failed/bankrupt cal athletic department

2025 pga tournament in west palm beach: 3rd round update

michael kim (67, 2nd ): playing 54 holes with 37 pars, 16 birdies & only 1 bogey, michael is 10 for 11 on scrambling & his lone bogey wuz fabulously played whacking the ball outta the water on the diabolical par 3 15th hole by taking off his right shoe & taking a muddy swip hitting the ball 35 feet from the hole!!

this week kim has birdied 8 of the 9 par 5s & made a terrific birdie on the short par 4 4th hole by hitting a gap wedge crisply outta a deep fairway bunker stiff for a tap in

course management: tomorrow's pin placements will be an interesting nuance for the final group twosome of michael (works the ball right to left) & north scottsdale's jake knapp (works the ball left to right) as the cups on most holes will favor one of the 2 ball strikers but not both

fun fact: a top 2 finish for michael will be a major plus in kim (currently ranked #79 in the world rankings) potentially earning an invitation to the 2025 masters tournament (the top 50 in the official world golf rankings at the end of the florida swing are invited to augusta national, missed the cut in 2019)

wut up michael??

with ur stock right to left ball flight there are a couple of cautionary pin placements (non par 5s which r always full attack mode as ur 8 under par on them this week) today specifically on the 6th, 7th, 11th, 12th, 15th & 16th holes where a shot played 15-20 feet left of the pin is the right spot for u to drain a birdie putt!!

brah ur playing with house money & it's absolutely beautiful to watch u play with full joy (zero fear), yeah golf is ******* FUN!!...patience is the key, knapp honestly gotta crooked azz driver unlike u

there's already been one wildly popular pro golf winner this week with 31 year old ex criminal (spent 5 years in prison at age 21 for a violent assault as part of the australian motorcycle gang "the rebels," the oz version of the hells angels) ryan peake winning the 2025 zew zealand open (and now qualifying for the 2025 british open at royal portrush in northern ireland this summer)

pro tip: if u play a practice round with ryan & he wants u to give him a putt u should probably do so!!

I was at the game last night and the attendance was disappointing, especially for it being the last home game of the season. It did fill up a bit more after the game started, but still a far cry from when Haas used to rock.

I understand that, after 6-7 years of unwatchable basketball due to poor coaching, that it will take time before fans return. But I think Mark Madsen is turning the program around, and we really need to support him and the team better with higher attendance.

Despite this, MM was very appreciative of the fans who were there, and his energy and enthusiasm is infectious. I really hope our attendance will be better next year as he continues to build up the program. Let's go, Bears!

force one, appreciate u truly bleed blue & gold but "hoping" fans r gonna return to haas is not a viable biz strategy, the men's basketball fanbase has honestly aged out with its diehard aarp supporters...dead people r NOT gonna show up next season (or really any season in the future) no matter how many immediately deleted special offer emails r sent out by the clueless (and lazy) markeisha & vasileios iliopoulos

the key to growing gameday attendance starts with berkeley students, chancellor lyons needs to designate a basketball general manager (just like football) whose 1st call of action will be to inclusively offer FREE tixs to all students (not just rich kids from pebble beach, menlo park & bel aire but also poor as **** kids from seaside, oakland & boyles heights who can't afford the student season pass) for all games...and then fundraising for a vastly scaled back dedicated basketball practice facility with leidy & jaylen brown as the prominent faces of cal basketball

https://instagr.am/p/DDVjG7Cyyzf
yeah shocky still loves cal basketball but there's too much bull**** right now for him to give 2 ***** about it these days

Fully agree that we need to tap into the current/recent students to build up hype and energy to get attendance numbers back up and the current marketing has been failing at this important outreach effort for far too long. They need to clean house.

cal's monster class KEY to this recruitment: give pops a key to haas pavilion so he can get his saturday morning shots up before watching the tofi boyz with moms & the fam after the FUN 30 minute drive to berkeley on fall gamedays!!

real talk: if u get injured at oregon & don't make the nfl, ur ****** in life (and the ducks coaches will have long moved on from u brah)...don't be a dumb azz, there is no brotherly culture in eugene, football players r disposable gladiators (in a semi pro organization without an academic component or a secondary plan for building generational wealth in life after football)

california golden bears 82
miami hurricanes 63

ugonne foul watch: only 2 fouls & stayed on the floor playing imposing interior DEFENSE with verticality (not reaching with the hands or lower body contact) & literally unstoppable offensively (setting screens with deliberation which is an upgrade for the nation's leader in moving screen fouls) along with 10 boards & 12 of 14 field goals for a career high 26 points...yeah michelle is a generational talent that could be an acc tournament mvp as the catalyst for them california golden bears

https://instagr.am/p/DGtpq_ASVwr
acc tournament: the bears will be most likely playing virginia next thursday in greensboro with the winner then playing notre dame, this will be a couple of potential neutral floor games (unlike duke, north carolina & north carolina state with their fans in attendance) as the 24-7 bears (16-1 at haas pavilion) look to improve their 2025 ncca tournament seeding

2025 roster: with the ncca settlement marta "the bull" suarez is in for a big nil paycheck if she opts to stay in berkeley for another season with lulu "the gold coast" twidale & gabby "the colt" abigor along with mcdonalds all american puff "the magic" morris forming a formidable quartet looking for a standout 5th starter & key rotational players

this is what we do!!: congrats to lulu on coining a phrase that will reverberate in the history of cal women's basketball that honors the legacy of this special FUN group of seniors: ionna "let it fly" krimili, kayla "let's rumble" williams, jayda "the artist" noble, natalia "not slo" ackerman & claudia "donde esta la playa en barcelona?" langarita
