My sense is that Hunter Barth's move to Stanford partially was based on the ascendancy of Ferrelli and the transfer of the uber athletic Taggert and BJock. In the week zero depth chart released by Stanford for their Saturday game against Hawaii, Barth is listed as an "or" behind 2024 back--up and now starter Galvan. Barth should expect way more reps than he likely receives at Cal, and walks away a paid for Stanford grad degree. A smart move by a smart Cal grad.

Kinda funny how the Cal fanbase reacted rather docilely to Hunter Barth's transfer to Furd, as opposed to Brennan "Traitor" Scarlett's move several years back. I attribute it to three factors:
- fans have been sort of beaten into submission in terms of player movement... no more outrage if the guy graduated
- Furd is so pathetic lately, it's hard to get riled up about anything they do... Axe firmly ensconced in Berkeley
- when Scarlett flew the coop, we were very short on defensive players; really coulda used him... not we got some depth
It is at the moment, and I hope it remains that way for the foreseeable future. We have a lot of ground to make up in the overall win column.

Seeing some of the physical results from this off season's training and the effects on players bodies, couple that with your constant preaching to get yoga in their lives and ours, I thought I'd post this short vid from the former longtime trainer for the Lakers. He points out that before doing "core" work was even a thing, one player who played a long time (23 years?) and never suffered one the types of injuries that we seem to be seeing more of these days, was Kareem. He says in large part because of Kareem's dedication to yoga.
This guy gives a good and brief overview of how our bodies work and how everything is connected, and how over training for one sport is causing many people to develop what I'll call "compensation" injuries. He says things that I think many people do including me and my brothers when we talk about how there seems to be too much specialization in one sport in today's world. We used to "cross train" naturally because we played what ever sport was in season as kids. Of course our cross training didn't eliminate the types of injuries being discussed, but rather that our cross training helped reduce or limit those numbers.
I also like his case for calling our core work, Core Endurance and not as much as Core Strength. How long can one generate force and still maintain the ability to control their core and center of gravity.

max got good rhythm with his new caddie lance bennett (whose wife showed out in her baby blue romper outfit with her brown skin shining in the sun) with less confusion/conversation & started with a momentum building buried 7 footer for par on the 1st hole followed by two beautifully stroked 7 footers but missed birdie (worth 2 points) on the short par 4 2nd hole & eagle (worth a game changing 5 points) after a spectacular 375 yard pipeline drive & stuffed short iron (homa's swing is mostly synched up & organized) on the par 5 3rd hole

funny story: shocky along with other key influential golf architecture raters wuz invited back in the day to the grand opening of diamante dunes in cabo san lucas which wuz the cypress point of mexico before they started building a ****ton of homes off the fairways including shocky & his daughter shay's beloved nobu cabo hotel which is by far the best resort experience in mexico
anyways on a par 5 on the back nine shocky hits a crooked azz hook into a pretty deep sand dune bunker down the left side of the fairway...my shot is totally blind so shocky hits a crisp 9 iron to get the ball back into play...my caddie javier is raking the bunker & after cleaning up the splashed sand with my golf shoes shocky briskly exits the bunker and strides down the fairway
my longtime g2c2 (global golf centurion club) buddy tommy from seal beach (o club member) looks at me with a smirk & says "ruh roh schulzie"...got no idea wut he's talking about
walk another 10 feet & our playing partner eamon lynch is screaming at me that the monster hit into him & that the my shot smashed directly into his golf cart narrowly missing his head by inches!!
shocky walks up to the screaming/hysterical peacock & calmly tells eamon "brah, u drive ur ******* golf cart in front of us when i got a blind shot from a fairway bunker and ur blaming me??...to be honest with u eamon i've never even met anybody from ireland that rides in a golf cart except YOU"
