From the SF Chronicle article:
During Aimaq's first season at Utah Valley, he asked Madsen why he wears Crocs every day. Madsen replied he likes being "comfy."
A new era indeed! @madsen_mark + @CalMBBall staff grinding the recruiting trail at EYBL Peach Jam this week. Love the presence. #GoBears #20wins pic.twitter.com/N0u5e7RZym

Tall players have big feet. Hard to find comfortable shoes for big feet. And yeah, Mad Dog doesn't seem like a slave to fashion. LOLgraguna said:its not the fashion. its the comfort.HoopDreams said:BC Calfan said:

So it's okay to wear crocs and white socks?
I wore a pair of crocs once and my feet started hurting the next day. Never wore them again.

The kids are wearing socks with sandals. For the record, I started this trend in 1992.

This shows how young you are, we wore huaraches and white socks in the 60's. Asking yourself what is a Huarache, it's a sandal made with tire tread…but we digress.bearsandgiants said:philbert said:

I once tried on a pair of Keen shoes. Didn't come close to fitting my feet.
20 years ago I caught the front of my sandal under a rug and broke a metatarsal. That was the end of open-toe shoes for me.
Now I wear low top trail shoes with thick merino socks. Maybe hard to find in size 19 but they're comfortable, durable, and sufficiently un-stylish for MM.

I like my Keens and I have two pairs - hiking shoes and casual. They are very roomy.
