I believe Cal students get Football + MBB for a $99 package price. WBB is free to all students.

Maybe but there's inertia to overcome in that the student has to seek out the student tickets and pay for them.

Why shouldn't there be a student-only entrance (which may already exist?) where all they have to do is show up with a valid campus ID and they get in? How many more students would go to games if they didn't have to plan ahead or if a game suddenly became relevant or important?

I was around in the 1950s, when USF one-upped us in basketball AND Football, and now they've done it again.

Free for Cal students is the way basketball and football should be. I'd agree students paying 10 bucks for the Big Game, but that is all.

72, ur facts are incorrect, the bench annual pass is $125 a year

berkeley currently got more 1st generation college students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds (which i 100% applaud, the redistribution of wealth in society not thru handouts but rather academic opportunities to build generational wealth thru elite degrees/educations which requires hard work) which means that $125 is not even remotely affordable to them, got it?

This is the real key. Cal is full of middle-class students who can afford $100 should they choose to spend the money. They've paid twice that much to see Taylor Swift. The problem is that many of them never even attended a football game at their high school, let alone watched college football on TV. For these kids, it has to be free and effortless to go to a game.
