Not sure about the whole story but in the comments someone mentioned that the heckler called him a terrorist and to get it off the country. If true, he showed more restraint than I would have
If this is true, there needs to be consequences for that fan. I'm not condoning Aimaq's actions, but it puts them in a completely different light.

Looks to me like AF simply spoke to him. We don't know what was said.
If the guy was labeling him a terrorist and telling him to get out the country I have no issues with AF speaking to him . He didn't get physical. It was a brief conversation.

And yes, security needs to toss that guy if that's what he's shouting.
alky, wuz u at the game?

No I was not. I was only commenting on what I saw in the video of Fardaw's' demeanor. Have no idea of what Fardaws said but it was brief and he simply walked away. Glad Madsen backed him up and I'm glad it's getting national attention.

I've been astonished with how bitter and horrible the Texas Tech fanbase has been toward Fardaws and Tyson on PUBLIC social media comments. That is why I laugh when Texas is portrayed as Nirvana and lots of people are leaving California to live there. Even if it was nice, you would still have to put up with a$$h@le Texans.

When I was young and traveling in Mexico and Europe, I can't tell you how many times I was embarrassed to be an American abroad when a group of those drunk, arrogant, ignorant and uncouth pieces of sh@it would roll into a hotel, restaurant or bar and start throwing their weight around. It comes as no surprise to me that they have yet to evolve.

I've lived and traveled abroad for much of my life and I have seen drunk, arrogant, ignorant and uncouth people from every state, including California, as well as many different countries. Besides, do you not see the irony in you stereotyping an entire state because the people of that state supposedly….stereotype?

I was sitting three rows behind the Cal bench and we never heard anything. He may have been sitting in the UTEP section. Shockey/Bill you are too quick to blame us. A punk like that would have been taken care of in the CAL section. I would have confronted that kind of behavior personally. It looked from the video that most fans had already left when the confrontation actually happened.

Wow, you like to put people on the defensive and blame without knowledge. I'll also be at the San Diego game will you be there? I guess it nice to know that someone reads what I post, LOL.

The coward who was yelling that crap probably wouldn't have done it near any Cal fans. Anybody I know would've called him on it.

Remind me again why we are playing all these games in some high school gym? When that high school itself is playing, their school/league surely has a system in place for crowd control, but what about in these games?

I heard Fardaws ask the punk if he wanted to talk....Just because Fardaws is bigger than the punk should not mean anything, the punk asked for it and Fardaws wanted to see if he wanted to discuss it further. Punk was wetting his pants and couldn't answer but Aimaq could see that his point had already been made...

When my daughter was playing CYO she was playing in a tourney championship game and was at the line for a key free throw with little time left in a packed gym in Pleasanton. A male teenage fan started yelling choke pretty loud before she shot it. I bit my lip. She made it. I went berserk trash talking the kid thereafter. Was I wrong? Yes. Did it feel good? Oh yeah, especially because he looked terrified. Did he learn a lesson? Maybe. Did I learn a lesson? No way. I'm Irish. I wake up in the morning half p@issed off.

I'd say Lubbock and El Paso (I wonder if the kid was a UTEP fan) are in a different world than Dallas or Houston.
Then again it may have been a local young man from South OC which I hope not. But unless there is confirmation I think some of you are going too far with certain assumptions. I've never lived anywhere but California, but to assume we are superior in thought process and education is questionable at best.

I just know how to keep my mouth shut, keep a low profile and not look for trouble, even more so when I am a guest in a foreign land. If that is asserting superiority over a Texan, then so be it. That situation is of their making and they have to own that.

Out here in Asia and the Pacific, (white) Texans have a similar reputation as (white) Australians. They are known for being fun loving, loud, racist, hard drinking, arrogant, entitled and dismissive of local culture and peoples. Plenty of exceptions for sure.

Yes, but Ireland is in the EU so you're 187.5 mPO (milli pissed off). Unless this post raises your level. Or you get a pass for predating the EU.

I was at the game. If it is who I think it was, he was one of a group of 5 local HS aged kids who were sitting in front of us in the first half. One of the kids was wearing a Cal hoodie, and the other 4 were obnoxiously rooting for UTEP just to annoy their friend. They were so obnoxious that we moved away (we were sitting across from the Cal bench for the remainder of the game). Out of curiosity, in the second half, I looked for them and they had moved accross to the other side of the gym, up from the UTEP bench. Aside from obnoxiously rooting for UTEP, they were mocking every Cal mistake and seemed particularly focused on Aimaq. I did not hear any specific slurs during the short time we sat behind them, but we moved pretty quickly when we realized how obnoxious they were. They were definitely locals, as two of them had hoodies saying "Sea View League Champions 2022-23". The Sea View league is a local south OC league.

Of the Texan exceptions I've met, they tend to be United pilots or work for FEMA or the Red Cross.

Of the Australian exceptions, all are young, all are women and they lived outside Australia for a long time.

Also, Kiwi's are more like Californians.

I take it you are pretty sure it was a UTEP fan. Seems like if not, you wish it to be to confirm something. Regardless, the big thing is the punk kid was far, far out of line.

Not about intellect but culture. Just look up the shocking things Texas Tech fans have said about Daws and I would not be surprised about them doing this to Tyson as well. Every area, community and fan base has their quotient of racists and meat heads, but from what Daws was experiencing after he left TT that just seemed shocking people would be like that for basketball. So my impression of Lubbock and fans of TT was not positive. Now if it was these local OC high school students riding Daws at the game, they have their own cultural issues to address.

I hear you, but group think and group speak are what is so so wrong in our society today. Yes, you can make "some" generalizations, but be very careful. I can think of so many circumstances where there is bad danger there.

Seriously! The stereotyping from supposed Cal grads on here has been embarrassing. My Cal education taught me curiosity and how to appreciate the world around us in all shapes and forms. Our world and the people in it are incredibly diverse and unique, so generalizations are ridiculous and idiotic. Sadly it seems not all Cal grads had the same experience I did.
