USC is not very good. They are OK. They lost to UCI and Long Beach. But we are not very good right now. A sweep in LA is possible if we play well. But we've really done that in a complete fashion only once -- v. Santa Clara.

they have some growing pains, but I am not looking forward to Cone trying to defend any of their 3 guards, and with Askew likely out, it is a bad matchup

What happened with Askew?

I am not sure why people think Askew is the missing link. He is one of our worst players statistically (our worst Box +|-) player). We are 2-16 in games he has played in. The only teams we have beat in the last two years with Askew on the court are UC San Diego and Cal State Bakersfield. And only this year.

I know the guys that are healthy are not getting it done, but there is a chance Cone gets hot. Brown too, and at least he is the future. I hope Askew gets healthy for depth and in any case I am really glad he will got a Cal degree, but I don't see him the answer or better than anyone who is playing.

And the 6-7 Trojans are favored by 6.5. Mabe we get a half court shot to win it at the end.

Thank you.

Askew isn't a missing link to success, but who else do we have at that position? (rhetorical question... maybe a good chance for Brown to get some experience)

We have 5 players not named Askew that were capable enough to drop double figures on # 22 Ole Miss (then # 24):

Big C had bleated: " ... how many other players do we have at that position?" Note also that we lost to Ole Miss.

Okay, let's go beat the Trojans tonight!

Defense is our problem. You give me 5 guys scoring doubles on # 22 and playing hard D, I don't care about who is playing what position. It's working.

*Probably not going to have 5 in doubles with Askew playing substantial
minutes.
