Big matchup Thursday between Arizona and WSU. The winner of that game most likely finishes first in the conference and gets the #1 seed in the tournament. I say this because if WSU wins they finish up with one road game at ASU and then play their final three games at home.

That being said, I know Arizona will be favored Thursday because of a higher ranking and a homecourt advantage. But I'm curious, does anyone here think WSU will get em? And secondly, would it still be better if we ended up on the opposite side from Arizona in the Pac12 bracket or is WSU the team to avoid? My opinion is we're still better off avoiding Arizona in the tourney based on the sheer Arizona attendance that always shows up there. Anybody see it differently or is avoiding Arizona still what we're hoping for?

Arizona is our kryptonite, they are a matchup nightmare for us.

We should do everything we can to be on the other side of the bracket from them.

Yep I agree. I thought maybe this topic would generate some conversation but there really isn't much to say here.

The Bears are currently in a four way tie for 6th place. For the Pac-12 tournament, the benefit of finishing 6th instead of 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th is that the 6th place team, if they win their first game in the tournament, wouldn't play either of the top two teams until the semifinals. The 7-10 winner plays the #2 seed in the 2nd round and the 8-9 winner plays the #1 seed in the 2nd round.

So the Bears finishing 6th, which will probably require at least 3 wins in the next 5 games, is better for the team's Pac-12 tournament outlook regardless of whether the Zonies are the #1 or #2 seed.

Washington State loses to AZ!!!
Arizona has not lost at home all season. They rarely do in the last 10 years.
Yes agree, CAL needs to finish 6 or 7th in the final standings to have any kind of impact in the tournament. Need to win 3 of our last 5 to insure a good placement in the tournament. Winning only two is playing with fire...in a bad way. Knowing this team it will go down to the buzzer.

Yes, 6th would be a nice finish. But the bizarre thing is that at least we beat WSU once, as opposed to getting mauled by Arizona. So if Arizona finishes on top we avoid them with a 6,7,10,11 finish. If they finish 2nd, then we need the opposite, a 4,5,8,9,. It will become much more clear after Thursday.
