Came in with a bang and went out with a whimper

He was only able to replicate the Syracuse zone when he had defensive POY, but after that couldn't recruit the a team full of long, athletic players (He got a few like their current center) so had to change to more traditional defenses

Hopkins is the first of the current P12 coaches to be out. Haase is almost certainly done as well. Hurley at ASU seems shaky but they do not have a current AD. Rumors abound regarding Enfield looking around and Altman retiring. Altman says no, but did not close the door on him being gone. He just said he plans on returning. Who knows what Oregon's plan is. They have money and big aspirations so I can see them moving away from a 65 year old HC as they enter the B1G.

OSU owes Tinkle $8M if they fire him. As a now mid major conference program they likely have to keep him. Ohio St has fired their coach. There will be more openings. These moves just make the portal all the more interesting. New coaches bring guys with them.

It's sort of a strange novel feeling not being envious of every school that parts ways with their coach after the past 6-7 years of Cal basketball and football.

Haase, Hurley, and Tinkle are next. I bet Enfield stays and Altman retires. Word on the street is that Kyle Smith is looking to get out of the palouse.

Yeah, Smith's professional life previously has been in San Diego, the East Bay, New York City and San Francisco but people honestly tried to convince us he wanted to spend the rest of his life on the border with Idaho?

If WSU makes a good run in the NCAA Tournament he will have plenty of options. UW at a minimum.
