The current situation was brought about by the Supreme Court (and then lower courts) enforcing the laws of the United States. The NCAA can only require that the players are actually enrolled in school. They cannot restrict movement anymore than any other student is restricted from transferring or employees are restricted from job hoping. It will take an act of Congress to give the NCAA authority to make restrictions on player movement to satisfy the many fans who do not like the way things have changed.

Will it? Couldn't the NIL relationship be wrapped up in a contract that could cede exclusive rights to a group that could require the beneficiary to be registered and eligible at a particular school and for a term to be negotiated between the parties and include penalties if not fulfilled? I honestly don't know, but it seems like that works in the professional leagues and let's face it, 'College Ball' is professional now...

The announcers Saturday speculated that his move was based on enhancing his chances of playing at the next level but they really didn't get specific about it. Anyone more familiar with the actual facts?

And that would, again, be in favor of the schools and the fans, and against the players.

Have requirements for academic progress and actually going to class also disappeared?. If so, we might be able to hire some retired NBA players who would like to make a little extra money on the side. Madsen could also suit up as player/coach.
