It is like putting your resume up on Indeed, Monster, LinkedIn, etc versus just sitting at home and hoping an employer magically guesses your phone number and calls you.

Division 2 and 3 schools are losing players to the portal and might like a smart, mature player with a Cal degree.

Should have a solid grasp of his NIL value since he's an econ major.

Maybe an econ major would have a good understanding of the whole NIL landscape, backed up by charts and graphs. A business major might have a better understanding of how it works personally, backed up by a bank account.
