Johnson is an elite defender. A really good fit for how Cronin likes to play. UCLA had trouble scoring this season. Clark can score. These 2 were quickly identified by Cronin as targets. What they do next likely revolves around Adem Bona. It is believed he is going to enter the NBA draft. If he does look for UCLA to go hard after Raynaud. They may pursue Tyler Bilodeau the Oregon St PF regardless of Bona.

It seems the UCLA collective is fairly robust.

Watched him quite a bit.

A talent for sure, but not the person I would want on my team.

I'm hoping we snag Bilodeau and Pope

Didn't these guys get the memo from last December-January that Cronin is an a-hole that throws his players under the bus?

Meh. I'd be thrilled to have them but these are rotation guys on a good team.

There is big money here. Just not being donated to mens hoops via the collective at the rate needed to rebuild the roster. At least that seems to be the current situation.

Based on what you say there isn't big money here or there would be no shortage of funds

Well there is a lot of wealth among the Cal alumni base. They just aren't willing to use it to pay for players. That was the point rather than the collective is overflowing with money.

Cronin's season-long whining maybe helped bring in a few more dollars...

From what Sabasta has posted, and he or someone who knows, can elaborate, it seems like Cal Legends is adhering to more of a "true NIL" policy rather than "paying for players." In other words, we are playing by the current rules (even if unenforceable) whereas others are pushing the boundaries (or just going far over)?

And we believe that to be a winning strategy? Does the phrase nice guys finish last mean anything to anybody around here?

Sebasta can elaborate or correct my characterization. He is doing what he thinks is right and putting a lot of time, money and energy into it. I applaud him and thank him for his efforts and will not criticize. We are lucky to have him and Cal Legends.

If anyone feels strongly about it there is nothing stopping anyone from starting a second more aggressive collective or just paying players directly themselves.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm going to start a separate thread explaining how we operate as there seems to be some confusion and I probably shouldn't bury it in this one. Will post that momentarily
