Posted this on the premium board, but am still quite frustrated and wanted to post here. The "geniuses" in the Athletic Department decided to move to a lottery system for student tickets for basketball games.

Why stray from the first-come first-serve model? This disincentivizes early attendance, building atmosphere at games, and instead randomly allocates (by the way, the method of signing up for the lottery is dumb).

Screenshots attached below. Can we please hire someone competent to run marketing and tickets??

This is crazy, thanks for publicizing it. So students are buying tickets, and they might not get in?!?

So you don't know what game you will be able to attend? I don't get it. Dumb.
