Bennett won them that game.

Cal was feasting on raynaud's awful defense. He took him out, went to zone and game over

If haase were still coach we'd be up 5 at half

Bennett?? I presume you mean Kyle Smith.

Ugh sorry all middle aged white people look the same to me

Law and Order theme during foul review is the best part of the game.

Raynaud is a beast!

A shooting big is like madsen's kryptonite.

Doesn't matter who we have as our 5, madsen can never figure out how to defend it.

We are constantly dropping our center when their best shooter is out there wide open.

I said earlier he'd look good in a dubs uniform.

I'm retracting that statement. He's extremely soft on D

They've had to go to a zone to protect him

Madsen and company should be ashamed of themselves.

I think the call at the start of the year was that we would struggle from outside. Seeing it tonight. Furd's run essentially fueled by their 2-3 zone.

I'm getting the momentary drift that the Bears are starting to think they can take it to these b@st@rds.

I also give stock tips. At least when I posted it we were down a handful.. and then we took the lead…and then my comment gyroscoped back to the "I don't know what I'm f'ing talking about" zone.

*I met Kyle Smith when he first hit Moraga and was extremely impressed with him. I wanted him after the Reign of Monty but he was not a popular choice here, Cuonzo was. Kyle has been on a mostly upward arc ever since and Cuonzo? We'll, he has left a trail of broken hearts and large bank deposits and has U turned back to Missouri State

Kyle is a long time friend of my brother's from San Diego hoop pickup games when Kyle and Bennett were at USD. They all stay in touch on a group chat. As a Columbia grad alum I was extremely impressed with his turnaround there and huge fan of analytics since Bill James Baseball Abstract when I was at Cal in the 80s, I have been the biggest booster for Cal hiring Kyle on this board.

I don't remember you advocating for Kyle when Monty retired, the debate was really over Travis, maybe Randy Bennett. Cuonzo coming to Cal days off a Sweet 16 at Tennessee was not even contemplated. The big one was when Wyking was fired. I was really pushing for Kyle and when Knowlton hired Fox so many people argued Fox was better it was crazy. Then when it was obvious Kyle was better, defended Knowlton and Fox arguing WSU was Kyle's "dream job" even though I know he loved: San Diego, Moraga and Berkeley, New York City and San Francisco.

Then when we fired Fox and the Pac-12 imploded I said we should go after Kyle, people continued to lie saying "Kyle's wife hates the Bay Area" or he will take a "bigger" job. Then he took the Stanford job. I'm happy enough with Madsen, but the amount of disinformation spread on this board in support of Knowlton's incompetence was disgusting.

71 shots, 5 assists.

My main takeaway from the Mizzou and Furd games is that they were both very winnable games against good teams. So on one hand we're keeping up with some top-notch talent… but on the other hand we can't put together two solid halves of tenacious D and working together on offense (yes, 5 assists in a game is not a good look for any team). We were within 6 points, playing well with the crowd fired up, then literally gave it all away.
The finger pointing is useless… I still have faith that Madsen will get the gears working by January. We cannot base an offense on "give it to Andrej so he can drive" or "hope that the quick short guys can get lucky going at a 7-footer in the paint." That missed dunk by Andrej when he could have just laid it in was egregious, he can do better in looking for teammates.
Passing, hustle (thanks Rytis), and 3-point D and we may have something.

The problem with rebuilding a new team every year is developing good team chemistry. Hoping this team starts to gel soon. Talent level seems to be moving in a positive direction.

Had a better time at Haas than I did last season (needless to say). Truth be told, I enjoy going to Haas, win or lose -- Cal fans always friendly and respectful, which is more than I can say of Oregon's and Arizona's.

I haven't seen much of Mad Dog's teams play, but does he encourage me-ball or was that just a few of your players (Stojo, in particular)? I mean, he's a legend on the Farm, so I'm rooting for him till we meet again, but I wonder.

Listen, you stupid jerk...

Just kidding! (^) I'm friendly and respectful, too! We love Madsen, though he doesn't seem to have an "offense", per se.

I've criticized Cal for not announcing former players, but yesterday they announced Circus King

how does this work? is there a process?

are players announced only if they want to be?

When Ed Klienhans was the PA announcer he always knew former players who were attending and worked with the camera people to announce them. Cal needs to do a better job of this.
