The refs gave us two huge phantom calls down the stretch where there was no contact. So how do we explain that?

Time to finish them off

*****ing about the refs yet we are +10 in free throw attempts with horrible percentages

Refs have made some horrible calls against Cal in this game.

Don't forget the out of bounds call at the end of the first half which should have been Cal ball

Sigh

I view this game as a form of Elder Abuse. I'm too old for this sh@it.

This game would have ended in regulation - as a win or a loss - if they don't reverse the call with 30 seconds to go. It was a one point game and Cal would have held for the last shot.

Have you ever seen a call like that reversed and a foul awarded to the player hit in the face? I have not.

Has anyone ever considered sudden death OT once the regulation clock has expired instead of 5 minute overtimes? This is ridiculous!

Announcers blew their history:

Cal had a five-overtime, 107-102 victory over Oregon in 1977

Not sure what Blacksher was doing there.

On the plus side, it looks like the game should end now and Cal has the ball with a chance to win. About all you can ask for here.

I love Madsen's energy, but some of his coaching decisions baffle me. I don't understand that inbounds play at all.

How do you lose a game shooting 38 free throws, obvious

ND shot almost as many fts, 50% from the field and 41% from the 3 point line.

Cal only played 8 players (until Mahoney at the end) - remarkable for a four ot game.

Among other things, Madsen should have put Stoja back on Burton for the possessions when the game was on the line (last minute ot plays) and subbed Blacksher for defense on the FT attempts. ND was attacking Blacksher.

And obviously, the offense faltered when coming out of time outs. That's on Madsen.

We have been shredded all year (currently sitting at #268 defensive efficiency) so if that persists yet can't get basic stuff on offense figured out (like not driving straight to the backline and turning it over) then I don't know what we're doing here

Allocco is a 45 percent 3-point shooter, so I'm not sure why anyone is switching off of him, and two Cal players switched off of him on that final possession. He took a season high in shots and was ND's only reliable scorer when Burton fouled out. Gotta play better defense down the stretch and hit free throws.

I was at the 5 OT game vs. Oregon, too.

I believe the late Gene Ransom went for 36, as did Wilkinson today. Greg Ballard went for 41 or 43 for the Ducks, or something like that, similar to Burton's 43 today. Uncanny if both the high scorers were exactly the same.

Of course, the differences are significant: Five OT instead of four and, especially, Cal won that one.

One of the most exciting games I've seen. Certainly in a long time for a Cal game. Great gritty effort. Really would have been a great win for the team. Refs really slanted towards home team on critical calls. I have seen Cal called numerous times for fouls where defender stuck their face in and invaded the cylinder. None of those called on defensive player...and certainly none reversed on replay. That was really really bad.

I was there for the five OT game too! As I recall, from regulation through the first four OTs, each period ended with a dramatic make or miss to extend the game. Some rarely used players ended up having big roles since so many of the main rotation players had fouled out. Harmon Gym was special, and that game was the highlight among the many exciting games I saw there.

I was there as well. I was 17. This was before cell phones, so Dad and I really had no way of letting Mom know we would be very late. Great game. I remember Ray Murry hitting 2 very critical FT's in one of the OT's.
Ransom killed it.

Games at Harmon ruled.
