Where are they? Wherever it is, why can't it be our 'dedicated practice facility'?

Sure looks like one, doesn't it? I bet if we told people it is no one would be the wiser.

I think the team has partial access to the student rec facility, which has been decked out a little to kind of look like a basketball practice facility. That's just my guess.

Yes, this is the Gold Gym in the RSF

Some donors funded the Cal branding and both teams practice in it when Haas is not available

I'm struggling with having to pretend to like Matt Bradley again just because he's using Cal to get some coaching experience. Last I checked he took exactly 1033 points that could have been scored in Cal's column and moved them south to San Diego. Looking for a reason to cut him some slack, I'm sure others know more details on what happened.

Matt Bradley is a huge hit with the players and the staff - bringing toughness, effort and advice to each workout. Being a GA, is a non paying job (do receive dept coverage of room and grad class ) . Program very fortunate to have him back. Matt is also Very appreciative of the staff for bringing him back. Matt truly loved Cal and reached out to have the opportunity to work with the program and bring his skill set, Cal experience and passion to the program. Matt would have remained with the Program had Coach Fox simply put aside his ego and simply reached out to both Matt and his Dad - once Matt entered the portal (which was His Dad's request to do) I tried to play mediator - but was told by Coach Fox that it was "not his role to "re recruit Matt, if He wants to be here, He needs to reach out to me". The meeting resolution, never happened and Matt moved on to SDS where He was coached up and had success. Very tough outcome then, as Matt would have very likely ended up as the All Time leading scorer in Cal hoops history. However Matt has literally followed his heart and is back to support the current program staff - and it's been a Huge positive impact.

It's safe to say that both Aaron Rodgers and Matt Bradley aspired to pro careers. Both liked Cal, but left early to pursue those careers. Rodgers' choice was more assured because he knew he'd be drafted, while Bradley was trying to put himself in a better position to be drafted and that was never going to happen under Fox. Can you really blame him for leaving, especially now that he's returned in a GA role?

Fox is such an *ss. Of course it was his job to re-recruit Bradley to make the team better. That is the job that he got paid $millions to do. Suck it up or quit and let someone else who is willing to actually do the job get paid $millions. Such a bad fit for Cal or anywhere in the 21st century and Portal era. Only an idiot like Knowlton would hire him and extend him. Can't believe people here defended him and attacked me for simply telling the truth about him and the damage he would do to our program.

That's as close as we'll ever get to a dedicated basketball practice facility.

This 1,000%. Fox was such a horrible fit for Cal, it boggles the mind how Knowlton would even consider him to lead our program.

Doug True played basketball for Cal in the late 1970s, made All-Conference and was drafted by the Suns in the 3rd round. In those days, 3rd rounders had a reasonable chance of making the team, but he chose to skip it and start his career in Chemical Engineering. When asked about it in an interview, I recall he said something about wanting to get a start on his real career right away. Maybe Bradley is looking at it that way - he wants to start down the coaching path right away.

As an aside, Chemical Engineering is a ***** of a major and while I didn't know True, I was amazed that he could play major college basketball and complete his BS in four years.

Many of us have seen co-workers who just refused to do part of their job. Some of them were good enough at other aspects that they got away with it, others had bosses who refused to address the problem. Fox's case was definitely the latter, plus he got a lot of mileage from his first Cal season where players generally looked competent and motivated, as opposed to during Wyking's time.
