we were looking good till the dumb foul by Dort, the airballs, and Duke nailing 3s from 40 feet. Fun while it lasted. Madsen had these guys ready to play and they showed up big on defense. Really a fun game. Would be a miracle if we win, and now that UNC has lost, would be another miracle to win that one, even if we lose. Furd is good thanks to one player. This conference is solid. Madsen looks like he's the real deal. Let's get him a couple more guys who can shoot and another big man.

Stanford freshman Okorie with 36 points against North Carolina.

Back in 1981 or 82 North Carolina went to Palo Alto and my brother-in-law, a Stanford guard, scored 36 and held his man to 8. The guy he was matched up against was Michael Jordan.

Okorie was by far the best player on the court. We have nobody like him.

Ames is better than zero. I think some of the missed shots are nerves more than ability. Full Haas, Duke, celebs in the crowd, our guys have been playing in in front of hundreds and aren't used to this.

The win wasn't all on him though. Dent-Smith and Agarwal were key from three, combined with great defense and rebounding from Rohosy. Impressive team effort to pull it off.

Ames getting going is good, but we have had a ton of good looks from three that we are just missing.

What's wild to me is that Duke is leaving Boozer out there with 4 fouls.

Keith Jones, All PAC-10, Stanford Hall of Fame, was drafted by the Lakers but the Lakers were pretty stacked in the mid-80s.

Ames with 4 fouls is not good

Madsen has found solutions to many of our problems but if we can't box out on shots we're doomed

Momentum swinging towards the Dukies again, wish Coach would call a timeout, settle the troops and stress again what we're focusing on at both ends of the floor.

What was Dort going to do with that pass? That play just burst the boil.

All we can hope for now is Cal covers the 14.5 and pays…..but that seems unlikely.

Getting smashed in the paint, points, rebounds, everything, only chance was to shoot from the outside and that has not happened

Our offense has a tendency to go dormant sporadically, especially when we don't have our starting five on the floor.

Now it gets ugly.

Their frosh is better (BY FAR) than any of our players. Next dumb argument.

Conditioning is an issue… they're looking pretty tired, they've got to find a way to finish the last 5 minutes with the same passion they had in the first 5 minutes.

We badly need some 3-point shooters.
