Agreed, that's too many points given how well UW has been playing on the road. I would have guessed 5 or 6 points.

For what it's worth, today's Sagarin Predictor ratings have Cal at ~83, and UW at ~77, and the Home Court advantage at ~3.5, which suggests Cal would be a 9.5 point favorite at home (6 points on a neutral court).

Of course, these ratings reflect performance over the entire season to date, and I agree that UW has been a different team the last few weeks than they were earlier in the season. Cal's been playing a bit better too, and we should get Bird back, so it's hard to figure how all of that will translate. My gut tells me that the line should be closer as well, because I think UW's improvement from earlier in the season has been a little more dramatic. I really hope we get a good crowd, it could be a difference maker . . .

That means the game could be a 3-4 point game with one minute to play or a 10-15 point game with one minute to play.

FTs, desperate threes and lax defense down the stretch by teams with substantive leads all can result in big swings late in games.

I believe this is more the former. It's more than likely to be a close game where the margin is no more than 5-10 points late.

Some people on this board expected a letdown after the Oregon game too...

If any team comes out flat it will be Washington, they had an easy time with Colorado and this game will be a step up. They have bad interior play, so if our guards play well we should roll.

9 is way too high and possibly, it would be smart to take the points, but, 34 years ago I promised myself to never ever (again) bet against my beloved Golden Bears ("losing" is painful and "wining" is even more painful).

Generally speaking, Romar has to out-talent Monty to win games against him.. Does Romar really do that this year, with his squad?

At the same time, Romar is not as bad as his critics claim. It seems his teams always improve over the course of the year.

This is the only time you might want to bet on Cal. Cal wins by less than 9, it's a double win.

I've often thought of betting against the Bears, but can't get myself to do it. That said, I almost won a 3-par parlay in Vegas on a Cal FB game when we were the underdogs. I had Cal to win, took the over, and bet on UCLA to win (iirc). Cal won and covered the over. UCLA, however, lost it for me. Damn those Bruins!

Burger King near the SE corner of Shattuck @ University I think is still operating (next to a Pakistani restaurant).

Best burger in Berkeley IMO is on the menu at Gather Restaurant at the David Brower Center on Oxford.

With all the great (and cheap!) food options just off campus, I don't think I ever went to that McD's in my time at Cal. Maybe that's why I don't remember it.

Yeah, there's always Oscar's downtown, McD is just for bums and clueless visiting athletes.
