How long do you want to ignore this user?
For some reason he is the Pac 12 player that annoys me the most. I think the primary reason is that he seems to be an excessive whiner and flopper. Somewhere in the recesses of my memory I think I have seen him take a cheap shot or two against our players (but I am not sure of this). Is DP on anyone else's list of of Most Annoying Pac 12 Players?

He does come close. Both those guys started the fight against Crabbe last season. He just reminds me of Beavis and Butthead (probably a combo):

John Paye. He annoyed me in two sports.

He plays and acts like he is privileged and that everything that goes wrong is an affront to the golden spoon he believes is his right. That is why I don't like him.

I agree about Powell. He's a turd burglar.

I don't like him because he kills babies in moonlight rituals and drinks their blood to keep himself young and healthy. I don't know about you guys, but that kind of thing just rubs me the wrong way.

aaron bright's done other vile things other than starting the fight with crabbe. you throw his mother into the mix and I think we have a clear winner.

what annoys me most about aaron bright is he acts like a punk and he's not even good. at least powell is a good player. if you're going to talk **** and act like an ass, you better have the game to back it up.

I wonder if he has to practice to look so douchey or if it just comes natural?

Shoved Crabbe to the ground last year during a dead ball.

Since his freshman year, Powell has shown in spurts that he has the talent to take over a game (potentially best player in the league) if he just focuses on basketball, but instead he seems to prefer spending the most of the 40 minutes on the court pushing, grabbing, shoving, whining to the refs....

I'm pretty sure he literally cried on the bench, after he fouled out against us either this season or last.

We want to ridicule Powell for openly showing emotion?

His crying on the bench actually makes him appealingly human to me.

I don't like him because he grew his hair out to conceal the fact that he has a head the size of a softball.

When Aaron Bright's mother was openly showing emotion did that also make her appealingly human? Or whatever the porcine equivalent is?

...that would be "appealingly porcine".
Yes, she did look like a little pot bellied piglet. Awww, so disgusting.

I grant you that this is not necessarily a good picture of him, and the likeness of these images to the B&B characters IS valid! (laughter)
[He should try smiling a bit and raising his eyebrows to engage the viewer with an interested and positive gaze. That might make him look either less dense (with those smallish beady eyes) or thuggish (with the eyebrows that naturally slope downward as if he were angry).]

However, I love the guy's game and am really jealous that he picked Stanford over Cal. We clamor about Lee and Brandon and Gordon and many other recruiting misses of recent years (hey, we can't have 'em ALL, so understandable), but Powell was a guy I recall having Cal, Stanford and Harvard on his list, and we've had to face him 4 years now. Dammit. He's a good one! I imagine he will quietly be a solid pro for a good number of years.

Interesting: though he's rated as the 4th best NBA prospect among seniors, DraftExpress has him at #10 of the 2nd round.

Let's hope Powell is in a fight with his girlfriend, hasn't got his rocks off for a while, and is in a "funk" that has him fouling out with 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 TO's (dribble off foot, throw out of bounds, traveling...).
Note: I hope his girlfriend isn't reading this, lest she take pity on him and save his day.

The memo said "this is the pile on Powell thread."

Waaaahhh!!!

I just thought doing that in a Cal-Furd game was over the top. Now Jorge crying after losing to Maryland in the NCAAs, ending our season - that's when you do it man.

I'm trying to think of a prominent Furd athlete from any era to whom this wouldn't apply. Undoubtedly there are many, just have to think of them...

How about John Elway? No, he fits.
Luck? Hmmm... borderline.
Brevin Knight? No that's not going to work either.
Tiger Woods? Crap, this is harder than it looks.

Ryan Mendez?

Casey Jacobson?

Jarron Collins?

A truly hard game.

Chris Hernandez.

Justin Davis (huge miss for Ben Braun).

List is endless.

The same Lee that used to flash gang signs in the tourney and choke signs at the free-throw line? You must like Richard Sherman too! :p

Can't believe nobody has mentioned McEnroe yet...

Arthur had some flair. I think he was backup to Knight so he kind of rose up to lead them to the Final Four I recall. I recall he's from North Hollywood, so being a Valley guy there's that too.

Just to be clear, I was kind of kidding with this. I think most got it. It's just that SCT's reason for not liking Powell was eerily reminiscent me of my reason for not liking some other Furdies like Elway and Woods.

Relax furd defenders. (And carry on fellow jackasses like me).
