How long do you want to ignore this user?
Haven't seen the vid of HOW it was said, but two things stick out.

1) Monty said he'd like to coach Kravish and Bird and such and that he'd be around to to do, "wherever John is". Good lord, if that didn't sound like a call to have Cal keep his son son staff. Bad nepotism sounding to me. Like, what? He'll keep helping coach/mentor at Cal (or any other university) if his son is on staff? Let the reigns go, Mike. It's time to let the boy get his own job, on his own.

2) He said it was time, that he wanted to leave on his own terms. What? Did he think we would such next year and there will be a calling for his head?

I think you are overthinking something that you've read. If you watched the video (you should) you would see that in talking about Kravish, Bird and Ty, he was lamenting that, of course he would like to coach his guys. They are his guys that he recruited and he loves them and wants to be there for them. He would feel the same for the new set of recruits. So when does it end? When does the affinity for coaching your guys end and allow you to retire, on your own terms? He basically is saying, that never happens. He will always feel the tug of wanting to coach those guys, but he felt like now was the right time to let go - on his terms - and not be forced out because he stopped having "the juice" for it, or because of health related issues. He's healthy, he still has the juice, and he's walking now - despite the fact that he would love to keep coaching his guys.

That's my take on what he was saying.

You summed it perfectly. That is exactly what I heard him say.

I read it that he has plans to overthrow the government but can't do it from the sidelines. Clearly he is a traitor and needs to be locked up.

Oh, I agree but if we turn it into a shame thread it'll be worth it.

Not sure what your point is, but I'll meet you at Sardi's in exactly two weeks at 7:15 pm, buy you a martini, and pummel you into dust. Queensbury rules, Kingsbury rules, it doesn't matter. 220, 221 whatever it takes.

Ummm?.. WTF? Are you drunk now? Relax, I was agreeing with you. Now, I'm assessing whether or not I shouldn't have.

You have obviously never seen Mr. Mom, Michael Keaton's greatest film outside of Night Shift.

Original post is still ridiculous.

Oh thank god. No, I have seen Mr. Mom but forgot the line. I agree, Night Shift is an awesome movie and the OP is ridiculous.

Weekly, Monty was arguably the King of Cal basketball, and it did rain today, so hold your horses.

Tell me you didn't go to Cal. Please.
