Just spoke with Cuonzo in the Reno hotel lobby. He was noncommittal if bird would play. Same response as before the Montana game.

He will not play today. I'm not going to disclose the nature of his injury if the program doesn't release it. Not even sure he made the trip to Reno.

Let him sit out until he and the team are sure he can be productive. Making the postseason is the goal, and he will be needed more in conference games.

Have to agree. Nothing worse than him not being ready, injuring it worse and losing him all season.

I recall he told somebody on this board that it was an ankle. Remembering the awful troubles Steph Curry had for a long time with one or both of his ankles (I don't remember if it was one or both) when he first started with the Warriors gives me hope because (1) Curry is clearly past that in a big way (even when there are tweaks, they haven't even kept him out of games); and (2) This success on Curry's part (over the fairly lengthy period of time it took the medical / physical therapy / equipment / maintenance people to figure out what to do) carries the suggestion that there is expertise in our local area available to Bird who know what to do right away to get whatever healing / maintenance / physical therapy / equipment process in place and operating efficiently and for the long term.

Yes, after the Montana game Jabari told those riding down in the elevator it was his ankle not his foot the was injured.
