Disagree here. I thought our Bigs (K2) absolutely improved over the course of the year.
Agree with "True Blue", although Rooks was better but his lack of mobility, and shooting skill will always be a limit. Lets face it Okoroh is not going to give you much. I have noted from the get go that I never understood the offensive philosophy of this team. Whatever they were running was so unimaginative and lacked enough movement to ever be effective. Having no real point guard was the downfall with two freshman bigs. Defenses took them out of most games. My feel is the CM was known as a hard nose defensive coach, and a good recruiter. Now we hear that the assistant who was fired was instrumental in recruiting Rabb and Brown, so go figure. CM needs a chance to build a program, but he must accept that he needs help in setting up a modern day offense and hire someone who is given the authority to do so. However with such a strong a personality as he has, don't count on it. It does not seem the AD (Williams) , is the type to force the issue. I also think with Brown and all the hype around his coming to Cal, he buy addition limited some of the other from developing the mindset to be aggressive, and develop their own game. (Singer,Domingo Bidas). This deferral to the "Man" hurt both the team and Brown, who could not handle the spotlight. This lack of bench production was costly when we had games like today with two guys out.
It was good to see Mathews sort of take charge, and with a Freshman point next year he or someone must become the leader. Don't see Bird or Rabb if he comes back assuming that role.
Well there is always next year as we have been saying far too often, but you just hope CM learns as he has to do a better job next year. Go Bears!!
