Dillard to Oklahoma State and Jolly to Baylor. Yanni might be a better fit at Nevada than at Cal.

In other news pertaining to non-golden forms of Bears, UCLA Legend Reeves Nelson legally changed his name to Sophaur One. That sounds like something a mentally stable person would do.

Good luck to Mr. Jolly at Baylor, and in life!
May he have a better Baylor basketball career than Gary Franklin did.

I think Sophaur means "limitless" in hebrew....I also think there may be an ego problem here.....

I think Jolly is going to be a much better player than Franklin. I understand his decision and wish him well.

ps Berkeley>Waco any day of the millennium.

Its a shame he rushed the decision rather than seeing how things played out. He could possibly have foregone an opportunity to potentially play with Rabb and Brown, and made some noise.

It's too bad after all Jolly has been through, but in the end I'd be much happier with players who are all in to Cal -- academics, Berkeley, coaches, everything. Well, maybe everything except UCOP.

I loved Jolly as much as anyone here...not for basketball as much as for his stance on helping his mother....I wish the very best in the world for him but it appears as if he may not have qualified academically and that is a shame....he is a good young man who has his heart in the right place but he didn't seem to get his academics to a point where he would qualify...the loss of Yanni happened at a time that clouds this situation but I believe it had nothing to do with Yanni...

The cynical side in me suspects that you are 100% correct, and that the Yanni situation was used as a convenient smokescreen to allow Tyson Jolly to save face and not publicly discuss his academics.

Anyway, best of luck at Baylor to Tyson. Both Tyson and Cal will be fine.

It's a bit damning to Baylor's academic reputation... I think they want BU to be first world.

Congrats and good luck to young T.Jolly and I hope he excels in Waco gateway to the Brazos and halfway to Dallas or Austin depending.

The way the Yanni report release was botched and then the Cuonzo investigation announced on the eve of the tournament shows total incompetence and lack of investment in a successful basketball program from the University. I do not blame Jolly for deciding not to jump on this train.

No way.
Stupid reasoning unless he simply loves being around an Asst Coach in YH.
Did you like the new center hung scoreboard? That was an investment. Did you like the additional 2k people in the stands? Cal is on the upswing, buddy!

I think a HS kid should NOT take into consideration the terrible job the OPHD did in considering what school is going to good for his hoops career, his academic learning,or his social life. Jolly and the OPHD won't have anything to do with each other.

I think you are just sour grapes. I think Jolly must not have had the grades.
