I think it's still suspendable but I think what happened is he kicked up out of frustration not caring where he hit Adams. I don't think it was a calculated groin attempt but he meant to kick wherever it landed.

I am a fan of Green's game but not of his personality. With that said, the video below from a prior game indicates that kicking his leg forward is one of his patented moves for drawing a foul and is unrelated to intentional groin kicking. Green would be well advised to re-choreograph that move. If I was Adams I would do the identical move on Green to draw a foul. If the NBA doesn't suspend Greem it will be hard pressed to assess Adams with anything more than a flagrant for duplicating the move.

The foul was upgraded from a Flagrant 1 to a Flagrant 2, and Green was fined $25,000, but NO SUSPENSION for Draymond. Whew . . .

That's punk a**sh*t. OKC will be pissed off and they'll take it out on the W's.

Don't know why people are surprised. Did they REALLY think the NBA was going to suspend a star player in a marquee playoff series for one flagrant foul? That's not how it works.

If I'm Steven Adams, kicking Green in the nards during an alleged reaction to contact is worth every red cent of $25,000.

Hate to say it but I think Durant gives Green an elbow to the head...someone who isn't a Kiwi being polite. They're going rough up that lad something fierce and get inside his head because he has to play under control or he'll get in trouble. I think you'll see OKC go after Green.

And the refs are just going to turn a blind eye to that?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
They turned a blind eye to Green but I suspect those kinds of play will happen in grind time under the hoop in heavy traffic. Expect pay back. OKC is going to rough up Green.

BTW, either Green is a complete spaz or he intended the kick. I've never seen a shot like that.

I don't know it was a pretty quick maneuvre and makes at least plausible sense as selling the foul. I don't think it's enough to decide the outcome of a basketball season. The fine and upgrade seems like a clear and appropriate warning though.
Still may not be enough.

This is exactly the key. That offense was horrible. Going to have to get hot.
I've been worried for 2 years about the inability of our non-guards to score 1-on-1 and finally it looks like have reason to be worried. The inability of Bogut to hit so much as a 2 foot shot is pretty inexcusable IMHO and frankly kind of arrogant. Draymond's improved but not completely reliable obviously.
Speights can do it obviously, but will kill our defense and rebounding if he's the 5. We should maybe give him a shot though against some line-ups.
A major upgrade at the 3 would help.

The next game will be closer but I'm not exactly brimming with confidence.

Results change so hugely from game to game, hard to predict anything.

That said, the Dubs may be down 3-1 with Green. When the Thunder are playing good defense, so that they get the ball without taking it out of the net, with Durant and Westbrook they can destroy an opponent...

In past series, I have seen Westbrook wear down Paul and also Parker. He is a huge load for Steph to have to defend a good part of the time, bigger and faster and stronger.

Offense was not good. But the defense was awful - 71 at the half, 133 in the game. Some of that is the offense allowing OKC to get in transition, by the defense has been puzzlingly inconsistent/bad for a while now. They were giving up a ton of points to Portland, too. They had been the league's best defense for two years. They need to figure that out immediately.

Biggest game of the year for both OKC and Dubs tomorrow. I can't wait!

One of them will be NBA champ. Either can beat the Cavs or Raptors.

Or so it seems...

Really, CT!? The NBA gave the Thunder the game?

I didn't say that, SB.
The Thunder have been impressive!!

The swings in scores have been surprising, however, and nobody can explain it. I'll say this again: refs play a HUGE role in the outcome of basketball games!!!

How much is a playoff game worth? What are the components?

1. Home team ticket sales:

2. Home Team Parking Sales:

3. Home Team Concessions Sales, food and gear:

4. TV Revenue, split up by 2 teams, or league-wide(?):

Perhaps this makes sense later in a series when you are trying to prolong the series. But at 1-0 and 1-1, it makes zero sense. I would imagine the ratings for games 2 and 3 were pretty poor, as both games were over early.

4

Well, I think you are talking about Adams?
He's from New Zealand? And, well, I think he appears to have some aborigine in him (see the heavy brow bone feature that is common amongst native Australians).
So, yeah, the use of Punk here would equate to... "RACIST!"

It wouldn't be too strange. With hockey and baseball any team that makes the playoffs is capably of wining the championship with just a little more luck than the others. In Basketball the best team is most likely to win, but the difference between the Warriors, Thunder, Cavs and Raptors isn't enough to rule any of them out.

I would suggest that in a 7 game series, the team that is playing the best at that time more often than not wins the series. Maybe a month prior, it would have been another team. A month later, it could change again.

Regarding these 4 conference finalists, I would think it is not really possible, assuming good health with the other 3, for the Raptors to win.

In baseball you're stringing together a lot of low-probability events in order to score. So yeah it's about a little bit of luck. The distribution of probabilities includes continuously getting on base, which is when you see a large number of runs in an inning.

Hockey however is weird. You can literally see one team clearly play better than the other, but that doesn't mean squat if their goalie is blocking everything in sight. Also - scoring is just odd. Something like 90-95% of shots on goal are blocked, but an off-night can mean considerably lower than that. Good scoring opportunities are rare, so there is a lot of randomness to hockey.

Yeah that happens sometimes, but usually not 4 times in a 7 game series. The team that is able to create the most scoring chances typically win in the long run.

Pitching wins championships, which is why Righetti is the most important man in baseball, and why, if the Giants can strengthen the 4-spot in their rotation, either by resurrecting Peavy's past strengths and strong consistencies, or by replacing him, they will be literally unbeatable [not that the rest of the team is meaningless (because it has some major, major pluses - especially Posey, Pence, the defense, the new position players (Panik, Duffy, Span) and the disciplined hitting (especially Belt & Blanco, who didn't use to be that good) - Boy, did they dodge a bullet when Panda split and they got Duffy in his place].
