I'm not sure yet. You can see the players pretty well but it's hard to view the court.

I don't love it but it is 1000x better than the old angle.

View of near side action is great but far side obviously sucks.

I can't believe how much more fun it is watching this game from the new angle. I can finally appreciate the relative sizes of some of our players. The god view was so unnatural...this change was a long time coming.

I really enjoyed it, especially compared to the eagle's perch view of years past.

The new angle is worth it just to be able to watch shocky's amazing sideline antics

Funding for the new angle finally came thru, along with one bright lime green shirt.
Coincidence? :p

I prefer the old angle myself.

I like. Can see much better and the mic also picks up the crowd (student section) better too, which I'm not sure they want to do lol. When the students did the nanana hey you suck song let's say there was a coed that was, as Randy would say on American Idol, "pitchy."

Plus lots of Shocky footage.

I hated it at first but once I adjusted to it I liked it a lot better than the old view from whatever mountain peak they were shooting from.

It is more like the Madison Square Garden angle - I like it better than the bird's eye view most places have.

Agree, much preferred to old angle that made me feel unconnected to the action.

Wish we could split the difference.

I'll have to check out my DVR recording to see what it's like. Shocky, of course, would say, "Who cares about the TV angle at Haas? You should all be at the game, not watching on TV and being distracted by me. I don't care if you live in Nepal, a true fan will attend every home game!!"

Me, I'll give you all a pass, but it was a nice game to attend. Went from "If I'd known we'd be missing not only Rabb, but Bird AND Mullins, and we'd play like garbage, I would have stayed home and watched on TV!" to "I'm damn glad I was here to see Charlie's coming out party!"

Looks like we have another coach on the opposite side. I don't mind if he keeps the players motivated.

It sure didn't look good with about 3 minutes left. Nice win under the circumstances.

Yes sometimes I had to squint to see the numbers on our players. This is much better, more like the UW angle.

Number one reason to be there in person is to enjoy (and contribute to) the atmosphere. But for me, a strong second reason is that you don't have to watch only what the camera follows. If I want to see how a particular player is doing on defense, I can. If you want to see how someone is moving without the ball you can do that. It's something you just can't do at home.

You like the vertigo angle that seemed miles away? Everyone I've talked to thinks it's fantastic. The old camera nest led to the worst telecast in college basketball. It only took 16 years of complaints to get it fixed

plus relocating the press and funding the change with new loge seating including shrinking the prime student seats by 30%

To me it's difficult to see the action on the opposite side of the court. Camera seems lower than most games I watch. Just started following csl when Zo came.

Exactly. They went too low now haha. All good though. Much better than before.

The students rarely filled their section. Cal tried different promotions. The only thing that really worked was free food, which they can't do for every game. Great idea to increase revenue for seats not being used. They dug their own grave. Plus they put the band higher up so students sitting in the lower north basket can sit and not have their view blocked by the standing band. Another good idea. Plus now people in padded benches are not blocked by the band standing. I wonder when students will realize standing doesn't help the team. Lets be different. Everyone else stands. How about we come up with some more creative yells and other ideas to help the team other than standing and droning every time the other team gets the ball.

When I was in the band, 1970, We only stood when we played. We didn't block other fans views and everyone had a great experience. You don't need to stand to be loud. I can recall a game against Ucla when Harmon was the loudest I have ever heard it, and no one stood for the entire game.I understand the Standing is a new culture and a perceived tradition, but it wasn't always so.
