I agree bearman. What i'd like to see him do is drive and dish when he draws the d..... it would make him much more effective in my opinion.... also open up some 3 balls and some interior finishes for Ivan.... Kim and King don't have the hands for those close space interior passes....

Given that Charlie is a Freshperson, it looks to me that he sees the floor as well as or better than anyone else on the team; and that, with notable exceptions (from which I imagine he has learned from being burned) he very judiciously sees when the chess pieces in front of him are deployed in a way that they do not have sufficient dynamic spaces to counter the moves he can see as available to get a sufficient shot at the rim or at the stop and pop point.

Can the idea that Charlie Moore does not shoot with his left hand be laid to rest please? Moore clearly made a driving lay-up with his left hand as he crossed over from the right to left side of the hoop with about 1 min. left in the WSU game....I thought I had seen him make several left handed shots earlier but couldn't put any definitive proof to my thoughts...now I am sure I wasn't wrong...he made that shot yesterday effortlessly, proving clearly that he CAN use his left hand...

Many thanks for you for pointing this out and correcting me. I am very happy to be proven wrong in this case. I only reported what I had seen in previous games, and I may have missed some of Charlie's layups. Even though I record every game and watch the tape, I still can miss things.

I do feel the layup you accurately mentioned was more of a driving left-handed hook shot, which was another shot I had not seen from Charlie before. He did make another left-handed layup yesterday, a more traditional layup from the left side, so he has at least two shots he can do with his left hand.

In order to give himself the best chance to score with a layup, since he can use either hand, is make the right split-second decision on which hand to use. He has had a number of his right-handed shots blocked in that situation, but using the right hand can still be the correct decision, depending on many factors which his mind has to process very quickly, such as the position, size, speed, athleticism, and defensive skill of the defender vs his own. In high school, his defenders were usually smaller than the ones he is facing now in the PAC12. They are likely quicker and more athletic as well. As the seasons go by he will make better and better decisions, based on getting more and more experience making them.

Thanks for the correction.
